Anybody watching this? It's a 3 night "event" on Syfy that concludes tonight. If you haven't seen the first two I suggest at least checking out the first one to see if you like it. I loved the first night, they drop a big WOW twist at the end. The 2nd night was pretty good also. Looking forward to tonight! I think they will show the first two before the last one if you want to see them all tonight.

Ascension | Syfy (http://www.syfy.com/ascension)

The acting is OK but the whole idea and story is about genius though. This probably could have made a blockbuster movie. I guess I'll have to see how it ends before I give it too much praise.

If you have been watching use spoiler tags in case others want to see it.

I try to keep away from the Syfy channel movies. They're usually pretty bad with crappy effects. Maybe this time they spent a little money to make it less crappy.

If you dvr it make sure you FF through the commercials. When they replay the older ones the idiots practically put spoilers in there.

Same here but they did a real good job with this. The acting isn't the best in the world but it's still a great show......so far

I'll watch it on demand; there's essentially no commercials.

I have to watch the second still, but loved the first. Kind of twisted getting into it, but once the concept took hold it's pretty good.

true

I thought the Elton John Rocket Man song was great when they were panning though the ship in the beginning though.

I watched the last one last night. It was pretty good but a slight letdown compared to the end of the 1st one. It kind of goes out into left field and leaves ends untied. It ends like they are going to make a series out of it.

I watched the 1st part I will watch parts 2-3 next week when I get back from a trip. I loved the twist at the end.

This is definitely not one of their saturday night B movies. Its more in line with the 2 night pilot for the New Battlestar Galactica. There have been reports that they are striving to back to doing more shows like that.

Potential future seasons

Although the show was ordered as a miniseries, it could potentially run for multiple seasons, similar to the network's popular series Battlestar Galactica (BSG) — and coincidentally starring BSG's Tricia Helfer. If it does well, Levens stated that he already has ideas for future seasons in mind.

Yeah after I watched the 1st one I thought "how are they going to top that ending in the next two?" lol

I liked the last one but they had already set the bar so high.

Finished part 2. Was good as well. Relationships are a bit odd (to not give away too much) on the ship. The twist on Earth is getting interesting.

You should like the 3rd one even better. It has a bunch of wow moments. I look forward to seeing what you think about the very end though.

They don't have it around here that I'm aware of. Why don't you want to watch it on the net? Do you get the SyFy network?

I do, but I will be travelling, and wanted something to watch on my laptop or tablet.

Oh! you want to download it and watch it later? I'm not sure about that. You might be able to download it from the syfy website. I know you can watch it there with a connection.

No luck. My video downloader plug in doesn't work for pulling the video directly from SciFi. Oh well. Also my FIOS app doesn't even let me watch VOD from SciFi, not even sure if I could pull it for offline use.

I'll just have to watch it sometime when I have an internet connection.

So, I finally watched all three. Pretty good series. I'm just worried that there are way too many twists and turns. I like it, but the plot may need to get a little simpler.

I had a whole writeup I wanted to do on the last 2, but waited too long to get back in here. Let's just say the ending was close to as a mind warp as the first. I hope the spinoff they end up doing is not cheaped out on. There is a good basis for a great series there.

Ok, done watched third and i gotta be honest...feel somewhat cheated.

For every question that was answered, three more were left hanging.

Am i correct in that this was a three show only thingy?

Lord knows theres enough there to make decent series!

Sort of the way I felt, I honestly almost didn't know how to feel about the end.

They left so many ends untied and yeah it's a 3 part depending on it's success they will make more. I'm confident that's why they ended it that way. I'm pretty sure you will see more in a year or so.

After seeing three, does anyone think that college student in the first was a test on the son running the project?

I wondered about him, his relevance in the show. If they make more I bet he pops up somewhere.
