I finally got around installing the ACPT driveshaft that I had laying around.

weird thing is that its removed from 1995 vr-4 and I´m installing it to my 1996 vr-4 so what is wrong.

mounting holes are all wrong

I’m assuming you have a 6 speed, do you think this shaft might be a 5 speed?

Another thing, it looks like the shaft is not made to replace the whole drive shaft (one piece). Hold the end up to the rear dif and see if the front matches up to the 1st carrier bearing.

It has the end that slides into the t-case though... Definitely looks like you need a new rear adapter. Bug the hell out of ACPT to sell you one, or have one made locally.

Or does that slide into the carrier bearing? Like the aluminum shaft is doing in the pic below. The other end looks like it should be bolted straight to the rear end.

Propably too much. Montero 3,5 block(Pajero Evolution V55W bought from dealer new block), bored to 3650, Greddy Turbo T88H .
All this back in 2003 !

Sadly this car was parted out due to cracked block this year .

This. Used a USDM Montero block which had the water inlet on the drivers side.
