Can anyone help with a fuel gauge that is lying to me? It's telling me that I have nearly a full tank but I know I don't. When the car was on the road I would fill the tank to the brim and it would read until it got to half tank and then stick. The only way I knew that the car was getting low was because the fuel warning light came on even though the gauge was still reading half a tank. I pulled the sender unit out checked to see if it was sticking, it wasn't, did an ohms check and it was doing what it was supposed to be doing, checked the ground etc. etc. I put it back in, it worked once and then would only read 1/2 to full again. Any ideas 3S pro's? Thank you.

The hanger inside the fuel pump assembly is getting caught on something it sounds like. Unbolt the sending until, pull it out some and see if you can feel the flapper going all the way down or not. Best bet is to pull it and put it back in.
(Don't quote me tho, I am not a rocket scientist)

Even easier, go back to the sender and unplug it. Then turn the key to "ON" and check the gauge. With the sender unplugged it should read empty.
If it still reads half way than the gauge itself is probably stuck.
If it is stuck you can try putting a jumper from pin 3 to pin 5 on the harness side of the connector, that should make the gauge go to full.
Connect it and disconnect it a few times and see if you can shake it loose. Even if that works though I'm not sure for how long...
