Stock muffler

Hello, I just had my stock muffler on my 1993 TT break the stud for the "active exhaust" . The valve is now in the sport mode which is alot louder than I would like to be driving around with. What are options here, has anyone modified the exhaust to stay in one position or the other, can you open up the bottom nipple and rotate the valve maybe, and reweld ? Exhaust is in great shape, I'll call the dealer for a new one but I am not expecting to find one.

Just a note called Dodge and none availible, called Mitshubishi and they can still get one...at a costly dollar amount of $763 :disillusionment: . Then it got better and she told me the valve is a separate part and there was no more listing for it. Maybe I'll try taking the bottom nipple off and rotating the valve about 80% closed and weld it, nothing to lose at this point.

you can post a wanted ad for a muffler, that is how I got an extra one. I hope to have it this week. :)
