5spd Transfer case rebuild help?

Hi, I'm in the process of rebuilding my 5spd transfer case due to worn spool and failed bearings. My questions are; is their a rebuild thread on here? Are the shims for setting gear mesh, preload etc. still available anywhere? I have looked at the workshop manual but it doesn't seem to be much help.

There are no books or info for setting any of the preload or backlash on the T cases. Everything is done by feel pretty much. If you are not replacing the bearings in the midcase then it will be much easier to install and shim the bearings for the spool. You will need a tube prussian blue for checking the gear mesh. A few posts I have read about the bearing preload say to have a few pounds of drag so that you can turn the spool with your fingers. As far as shims go you should be able to size them out and source them. I have a few sizes lying around if you know what you need. If all else fails I would contact Super car engineering.
