Even though more people live on the East coast I'm not so sure the support will be as good as last year. It's on the decline. People can't make a long trip or take off the time for work. I would only be able to come for a weekend but it takes me a day to get there so it's not going to happen this year. I wouldn't trust my car to make that long of a drive even if it was running. I think with how slow the drags are each year people can't bring a built setup or they can't afford to break anything unless they trailer their car. Should still be a good NG! :)

You know, Lori keeps warning everyone that the NG could be no more if the support doesn't improve. Still, everyone seems to have excuses as to why they can't go. The problem is, if you keep saying you'll make it next year, what happens when there isn't a next year? It's a real possibility that this could be it if registration continues to be low. Believe me, I'm making a lot of sacrifices to be able to make it this year, and that's not including driving a 225,000 mile Stealth 1200 miles each way. I've had to change work schedules with someone else, which means I'll be working 8 graveyard shifts in a row, getting off work at 6 am on the Tuesday of the NG and driving north without any sleep. (I'm almost 55, by the way, not some 20 year old, monster energy drink guzzler who is used to no sleep) But it's all worth it, especially if this turns out to be the last one.

Please be careful driving! Try to at least get a little sleep. We will all be there waiting for you wed morning :)
PS good post! They should setup a donation or something where if you really can't come you can donate a few bucks to keep it going.

Make a sacrifice, find the post in 3si's general form and keep it the most active post in general.
In any FB group you are in, post up about the event.
Make sure to post telling people why they need to go and how good the event is.
I'll be about 8,000 miles away at that time. I wish everyone the best.

Way ahead of you...registered a month ago. :)
Numbers are low but I'm sure, as usual, there will be a ton of sign-ups come the end of the week as everyone always procrastinates on signing up/paying.
It does suck to hear about the excuses though. I had some lame excuses last year and was super bummed I didn't do what I could to make it happen and get there. With it being really far east this year we hit a whole new crowd of 3S owners but with never being to one I'm guessing they just don't know how good of a time it is. They should look at the 2 guys driving from the west coast as proof that it's worth some sacrifices.

I'd be in there Terry, but without a trailer I'm not sure I want to risk it. Might change my mind and find myself some better pads/spare set of rotors.... stop making me second guess myself, haha

Honestly as long as your car is up on maintenance you shouldn't have an issue. Grab some spare rotors and decent pads and you'll be fine.
You can take it easy on the roadcourse (within reason, you at least have to be able to get out of the way) and still have a blast.

Its a nice safe track too lots of room if you loose it in a corner.
Terry, can you post this in the thread on 3si
If you are planning to come to the NG and have not reserved a room at the hotel yet, you should do this by the 25th. Based on the information we have the hotel is full for the week we are there. Our block of rooms represents the only available rooms.
If you have not registered yet and are planning to attend I would recommend getting a base registration in so you can get the hotel information and reserve a room.
The area with the hotel is not populated with other hotel options if you do not get room at the official hotel you will have to drive about 20 minutes to get to get the autocross/go kart/road course track.

I'd be short shifting and taking it relatively easy. I'm not too worried about anything other than the brakes, and a set of pads and Hawk HPP pads will set me back less than the cost of the road course. Hmm...
For the record, I should be able to keep up with most N/As :p

Same, was just leisurely cruising at 70mph and BOOM loud explosion sound, plus horrific stink of sulphur.
I'm trying, Alan. Got a few tentative things going on during that week. Unfortunately, I won't know until it gets a bit closer in time. :/

I might actually have a working cruise control for this trip! Drove from San Diego to Memphis, SD to Indy and Miami to St. Louis without cruise control. Believe me, it's harder than it sounds. I'm relocating the steering wheel switch to the center console. Hopefully, there won't be any unforeseen bugs once I get everything back together.

Have you driven a TT car with TT cruise? Mine is all stock and I don't know about full boost (15 psi), but it will easily get into boost going up a hill, especially in a high gear.

My car sat in the garage all week and when I go to take it for a spin last night my freaking moon roof won't close. After all these years the freaking thing gives out on me. Got to figure out how to fix, replace, or at least "seal" the damn thing if i'm going to make it to NG.

Interesting, mine is almost unbearable. It boosts real high then drops off real quick like it's saying "oops! sorry heavy foot" lol

Never used cruse on a VR4 before. It might be the mods to the car, aluminum FW, DS, pulley and the way the 19t's spool, IDK.
