been thinking of raising the boost from standard boost via an mbc i have standard internals a 400bhp chip (apparently) an induction kit and de-cat whats the maximum boost i can safely raise it to without causing a problem or having to think about bigger mods at the moment? also im new to the gto scene so a few pics of where it goes would be a very big help..............im from an early evo background and theres a lot more space in the engine bay than on these beasts lol

thanks in advance

Nick, drop the "chip", adding a few psi really helps the midrange on these cars.
Thousands of guys along the years have had 100% reliability with just an exhaust and a boost controller just like you want. Run 13-14 psi.

From the phone.

No such thing as a chip on these cars, the computers (outside of a very very small handful anyhow) can't be modified, so you can ditch that.
As R/T93 said, you can run 13-14 psi on the stock stuff without too much concern. I would add that some thing that you may want to look into a metal y pipe (or the tennis ball mod) as that pipe can blow off under boost (the metal one can too but a bit less likely as least) and a wideband is always a good investment for down the road that just adds an extra layer of safety precaution now. If you want to go bigger later, both of those will still be useful to you.

Upgraded fuel pump, hot wiring it, bigger injectors and a tuning solution (SAFC/MAFT/flashable ECU) all tend to come at once for folks at about the same time as a turbo upgrade as the factory turbos can't push much more than what the 13-14psi provides without just superheating the air.

ok thanks for the reply guys .......can you piggyback the ecu and run say for instance an ostrich emmulator? also what is the standard boost these cars run ? working on the body at the moment but the engine will be after that, just getting a few ideas at the moment.
turbo wise has anyone fitted a holset to these cars at all a hx35 or 40 i know these have been adapted for evos and produced some awesome figures but wondered if anyone has bolted these to our cars and what the figures were like, i know their big ass truck turbos but anythings possible right.
