I don't have seasonal allergies anymore?

I started drinking a mix of a few pellets of bee pollen with a cup of hot water once a day starting in February - and now I don't have a reaction to the insane amount of pollen in the air now that spring is here.

Ever since high school I had increasingly worse allergies from April through July which required antihistamine pills, nasal sprays and eye drops (classic nerd).

No more!


Anyway, no real point to this thread other than to share my excitement of being able to enjoy the nice weather without sneezing.

This sounds really interesting since I'm usually a swollen snotty monster throughout the whole spring before my body decides that pollen isn't dangerous and stops messing about with itself.

They say if you eat local honey it will keep you from having allergies (because of the local bee pollen). I believe people have worse allergies because they don’t eat much local food anymore.

It was at a Whole Foods store here in Indy. The Bee Pollen is labeled as being from an Indiana farm (Westfield, Indiana?).

I imagine that local is best since obviously local pollen is what was agitating my sinuses.

I'm actually just kindof miffed that multiple doctors over a decade simply wrote me prescriptions instead of recommending building up a tolerance.

I started off with mixing a single pellet of bee pollen into a cup of hot water and slowly escalated it to a teaspoon over the past 10 weeks.

yep I get local honey from the Whole Foods by me as well. while the pollen never really bothered me much before it did last year a bit so I've been putting the local honey on my PB&J sammichs and it's worked like a charm. :highfive:

I used to get allergies when I lived in California. Not sure what caused it... tumbleweeds, cactus, eucalyptus trees? Since I moved to South Florida, nothing. I haven't had a cold, or even a runny nose in 2 years. It does save money on over the counter remedies.

Interesting observation. There are definitely plants which exist in California but not in Florida, would explain why you don't have allergies anymore.

I'm with you, all of those over-the-counter remedies are expensive!

Xyzal and veramist. Cured 95% of all symptoms. Im allergic to about 20 different plants, grass being the most reactive.
I take one pill and spray application every 3-4 days
