I noticed some gunk build up on my oil pickup when I tore my engine down, so I pulled the oil pump cover off to make sure there was nothing in the pump(about 5k miles)
The pump looks clean inside, but there are some wear marks on the inside of the cover, is this normal or should it be smooth? Im probably going to replace the pump unless someone chimes in otherwise. Seems like the wear is more than I would expect on a 5k mile pump.
