Well, thankfully today the 'Saban rule' was shelved. What a load of crap that was. Hopefully it stays put away for long, long time.

And as much as I hate Rich Rod, this was pretty funny:

That proposed rule was beyond stupid. 10 seconds is faster than either Oregon, or Baylor, get their snaps off. They're by far the two quickest HUNH teams, soooo?

Also, Rich Rod and his hokie ass PR team need to stop. Dorks. As well as, I look for a significant regression by Arizona this year.

I thought it was funny. Heck, whether it was right or wrong, he's doing part of his job: Getting the fan base riled up and excited.

At any rate, while the rule may be stupid, I would expect that there will be research into the claims of player safety behind it and that would the voting. I doubt that they'll come to a consensus. Hell, if they were REALLY worried about player safety, they'd actually enforce the rule requiring mouth pieces (and require quality pieces with enough size to protect from concussions) or they'd mandate schools (at least at the D1 level) use the newest concussion resistant helmets or those goofy soft caps like Mark Kelso or Steve Williams used to wear. Or even knee pads..Sure players actually have them in the pants, but have the pants kind of rolled up in such a way that the knee pad is above the knee.

Multitude of other things that they could change to actually make it safer instead of the 10 second rule.

I have not. Not a Rich Rod fan after what he did to WVU (because my grandfather was a WVU fan) although I do think he got a bum deal in Michigan, I also think it's just a karmic bitch slap that he kinda deserved.

More importantly: Can Tennessee turn a quality recruiting class into a +.500 record?

Probably not..I would love to be pleasantly surprised though. I honestly expect this year will likely be a step back for us. Sure we get Utah State, Chattanooga and Arkansas State, but otherwise every other game should be a loss or at best a narrow win. We lost an entire offensive line (although our o-line sucked dick last year) and I just expect we're going to get massacred.

Echo419

in regards to the Saban rule. like our new National Championship winning Defensive coordinator said, "you they can coach the offense to run off a play in 10 seconds so can we.". I've probably got that quote a little wrong but that's the gist of it.

so now we(UGA) have a head coach and DC that have won a National Championships. the best running back in the country and tallent for days. it's time they put this shit together.

Not sure if serious.

Only vaguely. Think he was a poor fit for UM anyhow, but I feel that less than 3 years to completely change a program from old school pro style to a spread o and 3-3-5 defense is a bit absurd.

I think he got what he deserved, but I don't think expectations were realistic anyhow. Also it signaled the start of what I view as a three year window for coaches. They have three years to make a team a conference championship contender or else they're pretty much on thin ice.

The lawyer, Bill Isaacson, asked Pilson if he thought such an opinion has an impact on the affection that Crimson Tide fans have for their team, and more broadly, television ratings for games.

Pilson bristled, responding, "We're talking about the strongest possible school in terms of pro football. I read what Bear says, but I -- I think, frankly, the University of Alabama football advocates follow their team win or lose, paying them or not."

UGA goes 11-1 and misses out on the playoff group by one because everyone else goes undefeated.

I also predict that the defense will become lights out, out of no where and the offense will struggle to put up 10. now I'm not basing this on anything other than this team underachieves like no one else and like all Ga sports teams likes to get your hopes up only to smash them at the last second.

DK77
07-17-2014, 12:18 PM
I'm optimistically going to predict 11-1 for the Huskers. Michigan State is the only game that I think they lose. They will have a lot of tough games though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see several losses to likes of Fresno State (road game), Miami, Northwestern, Wisconsin, or Iowa. Fresno State and Miami have lost a bit from last year so I think the Huskers can edge them out. Northwestern will be interesting; I'm not sure how they will be without Kain Colter but they always make it a contest with Nebraska. As for Wisconsin and Iowa, they both definitely have what it takes to beat the Huskers but I think the Huskers will be ready to play for those since the last time they played those two teams they got handled.

HilbillyHomeboy

Can't imagine they would cancel this. This will be a huge payout. WV has one of these types of games every year for the next 3-4 years that all pay a minimum of 2 mil, including a guaranteed 3.2 mil to play Alabama in 39 days.

I <3 Charlie Strong, and I think he's exactly what the team needed. I can't wait to see what they look like, but I'm not going to be disappointed by anything better than 6-6. Texas is thin as hell at QB, RB, OT, S... Super unimportant positions. If Texas stays healthy they can win 10, but it's a brutal schedule.

He's definitely doing the right things, and will return the program to the glory days. I think you're in a bit of trouble right now for the exact reason of the thin spots. From what I've read, UT is going to be leaning heavily on true freshman at a lot of the skill positions. As a WV fan, I know the potential perils of that in the B12.

Hopefully Michigan will continue in this direction. Next weekend at ND should be a great game.

On a side note, WVU needs to get some Elmer's on their gloves or something...the amount of dropped passes is just beyond unfortunate. They could be blowing 'Bama out right now but alas, it's like they want to lose.

Well, I really had no idea what to expect starting the season, but after a good overall game against Bama I can say I see a lot of improvements over last years squad. I also see lots of improvements that still need made, like mentioned catching the damn ball.

Going into the game I didn't expect a win, all I wanted was a good game and I got that. Bama was just a little too much for the Eeers today.

Very happy with the Huskers season opener. They played as I expected them to. Armstrong was pretty good. He had a few passes that were off the mark slightly, but overall other than one or two throws he never put the ball in a place it could have been intercepted. I'm also very happy with the adjustments they made to the stadium. They re-did the sound system and it's 100X better now (music selection was greatly improved as well), they also added wifi that I think is faster than my internet at home LOL.

I'll just leave this here too :D

Texas is going to play a ball control offense and lean on it's defense. Kind of crazy given Texas HS offenses and the awful Longhorn defense last season...

Why? It worked for Strong at Louisville and it's a way of hedging against a lack of depth on offense... There are ~4 players Texas can't afford to lose and one of them was senior center Dominic Espinosa. A guy that could have ended the dry spell (6 years?) for Texas NFL draft picks. He got rolled up on and his ankle was broken... ~260-lb RS-Fr Jake Raulerson botched ~3 snaps (1 recovered in the end zone for the only UNT TD), and let Ash take a few significant hits. Unless the O-line guru we poached from Okie State (Wickline) can work a minor miracle, Raulerson and Ash are going to get rag-dolled by BYU and UCLA who play 3-4's with huge nose tackles.

My only criticism of Strong so far is that he left Ash in this game for too long. I can't wrap my head around it.

Now, our defense was completely different than anything we've seen in years. I don't recall a single missed tackle. UNT is starting over on offense and it showed, but the defense was fundamentally sound... UNT never got more than 8 yards on a play and had less than 100 yards on the day. Our walk-on safety (Haines) got a pick and a mackbrown-trash-heap LB (Cobbs) got a pick 6 and showed off some serious speed... 4 picks in all.

On the positive injury front, the former 5-star LB (Hicks) out of Ohio is healthy again and looking as bad ass as ever coming off his torn achilles. J-Gray (RB) also looks great coming off his own achilles...

UCLA's offense looked awful against Virginia, so I'm suddenly feeling a little bullish about that game (maybe it will end in a 0-0 tie!), but it will depend on how healthy we are after BYU, who looked impressive against UConn... In week 2 last year, BYU's Taysom Hill ran for 283,954 yards, a handful shy of Vince Young's record, got Manny Diaz fired and sealed the fate of Mack.

AdamVR4
09-01-2014, 11:01 PM
Aaaaand Ash got another concussion. Out for BYU, at least. For his sake he should probably retire. Swoopes will be the guy... He should have been redshirted last year, and he's still quite raw. There's only 1 "guaranteed" win left on the schedule.

The University of Georgia has Todd Gurley and you don't
-Chris Fowler
TFG(Todd F*cking Gurley) as we like to call him here. for those of you that missed the game as badly as Gurley ran over the Clemson defenders we had 2 others do that same thing one being true freshman Nick Chubb and another that just blew by the defense like they were watching him on their couches. all in all I'd say we have 5 total RB's that could start on literally any other team.

defense. Jeremy Purit appears to be the truth. Clemson was literally shut down in the second half. literally. not going to lie I was nervous in the first half but the second half was complete lights out.

Mack Brown's sales pitch got old, and the classes just haven't lived up to the hype in YEARS. Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley made up for all the average players around them. The current team is made up of players from as far back as the 2010 class (#2 class nationally, 5 are still with the team, 0 draft picks). Thats the class that came in the wake of losing to Bama in the MNC and then mostly watched from the bench as we went 5-7.

I'll spare you the whole list, here are the 2-deep players that are out... off the top of my head:
Injured: QB (Ash), C (Espinosa)
Suspended indefinitely: RB/WR (Daje Johnson), S (Turner), OT (Harrison), OT (Estelle),
Kicked off team: RB (Bergeron), WR (Sanders), RB/QB (Overstreet), WR (Meander)

BYU destroyed our veteran line last year and this cobbled together thing has like 4 combined starts. Good luck Swoopes.

That sucks for Ash. Two bad concussions... I would expect him to get out of football. I think Strong is doing the right thing, but its going to hurt. Going to take a while for Texas to get back on track.

Mack slept on his hands for years, which was horrible. then you have to replace him and get his mindset out completely.

I really give little credence to the performance WVU had today. Towson is an FCS school and WVU did what they were supposed to do against lesser competition. Their performance last week in the loss to Bama showed me more of what they are made of more than today's blowout of Towson. Next week will be a real litmus test against Maryland. If they go in there and can beat Maryland soundly, then that will give me some hope to a good season this year. If they go in and struggle and/or lose, then it means they really haven't gotten any better than they were last year and it will probably be a long season.

IMO, I'm not sure that even an undefeated B1G team would make the playoff at this point (and it would have to be Nebraska or Iowa; unlikely). The Nebraska game could have been very different if Armstrong hadn't thrown a pick 6 when they were about to go up 14 in the 2nd. Regardless, they shouldn't have even been close. It would be nice if Nebraska's Offensive coordinator could get his head out of his ass. Nebraska could have handled McNeese but he kept calling the most retarded plays. They keyed on Abdullah like crazy so everytime we ran the read, Armstrong was wide open. So what play do we keep calling? Play action pass deep for an incompletion and stall the drive... It was hilarious watching Abdullah break 5 tackles on the run to win the game though, at one point 3 people hit him simultaneously and he was just like, NOPE.

MSU & OSU, as well as Wisconsin prior to the LSU game were the only B1G teams that had a shot at making the playoffs. I just don't see it happening now.

And if Michigan doesn't win at least 9 games, including a win at MSU or OSU, I just don't see how Brady Hoke can keep his job. Or at least get the man a damn headset already. Yesterday was truly amazing for how much talent we have wandering the field.

Swoopes showed off some accuracy, but due to injury/suspension the offensive line couldn't run or pass block, and neither of our talented running backs could do it by themselves... The defense was impressive during the 1st half when our offense was getting some first downs, but in the 2nd half, our offense shit itself and the defense wore down and collapsed. BYU was bigger and faster than Texas and there was only one dual threat QB on the field :(

William & Mary took WVU to the line last year in that eventual 24-17 win. To come out and take care of business like WVU did is a major improvement. Trickett dead on target at 35 of 40, 3 games in a row of 300+ yd passing. Kevin White becoming the stud we knew he could be. Defense pitches its 1st shutout in years. RB corps proved it truly is 5 deep. Saw a glimpse of the dual threat of Crest. This team should continue to make noise.

I do agree about Maryland. However, they always play up to us, and they have a couple of outstanding receivers. I'll take any win, there.

At any rate, much as I love the SEC not sure it is the premier conference in the country this year. I think the Pac12 could make a strong case to be #1 for top to bottom strength. I do think PAC and SEC are pretty far ahead of the rest though.

In terms of top to bottom I would say the two are close... Don't forget, LSU almost lost to a DII team... Oh wait, that was Wisconsin. And Oregon was down 28-17 deep into the 3rd quarter to one of those mid major B1G schools too.

In all seriousness I think the PAC-12 is slightly ahead mostly because they have a lot more proven leadership from their QBs. And yes, I agree the whole B1G is a dumpster fire at this point (except maybe Minnesota and Penn State, but only because they aren't as a big a dumpster fire as they were supposed to be).

Also, I guess I could add Penn State to my short list of B1G teams that could go undefeated (still highly unlikely) and miss the playoff now that they are actually eligible.

I think the gap between the two has certainly closed, and I also think top to bottom the PAC-12 may be very, VERY slightly ahead. But there's no doubt that the SEC has the collection of the strongest teams. The Pac-12 realistically has two potential candidates for the playoffs - USC and Oregon. The SEC has four - LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia. If LSU, Alabama, and Auburn were in any other conference (and heck, any other division for that matter - the SEC West is STACKED) their path would be a lot more assured. As it is they're basically going to cannibalize themselves.

However, at one point one of them said, "There is movement on the interior line, but there is no flag." Hey dumbass, there is no flag because they weren't set. Learn the rules.

To top it off that was a 4th and 1 play and Maryland ended up jumping offsides and the same announcer says, "Well there was all kinds of movement on that play, but Maryland has the penalty go against them." :headsmack:

I read an article today talking about whether Nebraska's easy out of conference schedule would hurt their chances at a playoff berth... There's a lot of chances to F up before then lol.

This weekend will be interesting. Miami is at least as talented, if not more, than Nebraska. Everyone has been making knee jerk reactions after each game. Week 1 people were taking like they'd easily walk through a B1G championship. After week 2 all of a sudden we were going to lose at least 6 games, and now we're back to talking championships. I really think there shouldn't be any polls until after week 4 because you don't really know anything until you've seen several games.

From MGoBlog:

For posterity I've clipped the video of the helmet to helmet hit and Michigan's actions after, plus the decision to insert him into the game after Gardner's helmet popped off.The booing you hear in the background is fans demanding that Morris be removed, as it was even more obvious Morris was not right if you were looking at him for those 20 seconds uninterrupted. The only guy in the stadium who didn't know was Hoke.

Bluntly, anyone arguing that we shouldn't jump down Hoke's throat because of the slight possibility Morris was not concussed is an idiot.

But he didn't, and he said as much in his post game press conference:

Brady, curious as to the decision to leave Shane in after he got hit. Might've had a concussion…

“Well, you know, I don’t know. I don’t know if he might’ve had a concussion or not. I don’t know that and that wasn’t something- Shane’s a pretty competitive, tough kid and Shane wanted to be the quarterback and so believe me, if he didn’t want to be he would've come to the sideline or stayed down.”

I'm not trying to say Brady was malicious or anything, only that this is just one more aspect of the game he seems to be lost on. It's like he never really knows what's going on out on the field and never seems to be involved in the game much past his cheerleading.

Nebraska vs. Michigan State is going to be interesting on Saturday. Nebraska has played well against Michigan State in the past, averaging 110 rushing yards per game more than MSU allowed on average for the rest of the season. Add in that Nebraska has improved offensively and Michigan State is not quite as good this year on D, this potentially has the makings of a shootout. MSU's scheme on defense will leave one on one matchups with NU's receivers, which is a matchup that the Huskers like. I expect Kenny Bell to have a couple chance to make catches over the top. As long as NU doesn't turn the ball over they should have success offensively.

The question will be how NU's defense does against MSU's offense. Langford is pretty good and Nebraska has had trouble stopping the run at times, so that could be a problem. Cook is and will be the best QB Nebraska faces this season. NU's defense is usually pretty good against the pass, but it will be an interesting matchup.

I'm definitely excited for the game though, since this is Nebraska's shot to actually get some respect this season. I don't know how they are only ranked 19th. The lowest 5-0 Power Five team besides Nebraska is ranked 7th. I'm not saying Nebraska should be top 10, but they should be at least top 15. After the McNeese State game, seems like the national perception of Nebraska was they were hardly better than an FCS team. It's not like other teams haven't had games that they overlooked (see Missouri vs. Indiana).

I also don't know why Ameer Abdullah isn't getting more Heisman buzz. He leads the nation in total rushing (833) and all-purpose yards (1060), is first in all-purpose YPG (212), has 9 touchdowns, and has had three 200 yard rushing games this season. He had 100 yards against Illinois with 6 minutes remaining IN THE FIRST QUARTER. He easily would've gone over 300 (maybe even 400) if they had left him in. You could say he's faced easy opponents, but in Miami's 4 games not against Nebraska they've allowed 83.3 rush YPG, good for 9th in the nation. Ameer put up 229 rushing and 313 all-purpose yards against them. I have no doubt he's going to have a big day against MSU, too. He had 123 rushing yards and 5.6 YPC against them last year.

I'll leave this here for your enjoyment, too. FauxPelini meets MSU P Mike Sadler - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/108222/fauxpelini-meets-msu-p-mike-sadler)

Alan, here's the press release from Dave Brandon put out this morning around 1AM. It seems Shane had a concussion after all.

Ultimate responsibility for the health and safety of our student-athletes resides with each team's coach and with me, as the Director of Athletics. We are committed to continuously improving our procedures to better protect the health and welfare of our student-athletes.

I have had numerous meetings beginning Sunday morning to thoroughly review the situation that occurred at Saturday's football game regarding student-athlete Shane Morris. I have met with those who were directly involved and who were responsible for managing Shane's care and determining his medical fitness for participation.

In my judgment, there was a serious lack of communication that led to confusion on the sideline. Unfortunately, this confusion created a circumstance that was not in the best interest of one of our student-athletes. I sincerely apologize for the mistakes that were made. We have to learn from this situation, and moving forward, we will make important changes so we can fully live up to our shared goal of putting student-athlete safety first.

I have worked with Darryl Conway, my associate athletic director for Student-Athlete Health and Welfare, to develop a detailed accounting of the events that occurred. Darryl is the person who oversees all athletic training personnel and serves as the liaison to the physicians we work with through the University of Michigan Health System and University Health Services.

It is important to note that our athletic trainers and physicians working with Michigan Athletics have the unchallengeable authority to remove student-athletes from the field of play. Michigan Athletics has numerous medical professionals at every football competition including certified athletic trainers and several physicians from various relevant specialties.

I, along with Darryl and our administrative and medical teams, have spent much of the last two days carefully reviewing the situation regarding Shane Morris. We now understand that, despite having the right people on the sidelines assessing our student-athletes' well being, the systems we had in place were inadequate to handle this unique and complex situation properly.

With his permission, I can share that Shane Morris suffered an ankle injury during the third quarter of Saturday's game. He was evaluated for that injury by an orthopedic surgeon and an athletic trainer several times during the game. With each of these evaluations it was determined that his ankle injury did not prevent him from playing.

In the fourth quarter, Shane took a significant hit and stumbled after getting up. From the field level and without the benefit of replays, medical and coaching staffs did not see the hit. Because they did not see the hit, the athletic training staff believed Shane stumbled because of his ankle injury. The team neurologist, watching from further down the field, also did not see the hit. However, the neurologist, with expertise in detecting signs of concussion, saw Shane stumble and determined he needed to head down the sideline to evaluate Shane.

Shane came off the field after the following play and was reassessed by the head athletic trainer for the ankle injury. Since the athletic trainer had not seen the hit to the chin and was not aware that a neurological evaluation was necessary, he cleared Shane for one additional play.

The neurologist and other team physicians were not aware that Shane was being asked to return to the field, and Shane left the bench when he heard his name called and went back into the game. Under these circumstances, a player should not be allowed to re-enter the game before being cleared by the team physician. This clearly identifies the need for improvements in our sideline and communications processes.

Following the game, a comprehensive concussion evaluation was completed and Shane has been evaluated twice since the game. As of Sunday, Shane was diagnosed with a probable, mild concussion, and a high ankle sprain. That probable concussion diagnosis was not at all clear on the field on Saturday or in the examination that was conducted post-game. Unfortunately, there was inadequate communication between our physicians and medical staff and Coach Hoke was not provided the updated diagnosis before making a public statement on Monday. This is another mistake that cannot occur again.

Going forward, we have identified two changes in our procedures that we will implement immediately:

We will have an athletic medicine professional in the press box or video booth to ensure that someone will have a bird's eye view of the on-field action, have television replay available and have the ability to communicate with medical personnel on the sidelines.

We are also examining how to reinforce our sideline communication processes and how decisions will be made in order to make sure that information regarding student-athlete availability to participate is communicated effectively amongst the medical team and to our coaches.

We have learned from this experience, and will continue to improve ways to keep our student-athletes' health and safety our number one priority.

A lack of communication...it couldn't possibly be from not wearing a headset, could it? Nus said he got the call that the play was coming back before it was even over. God forbid Brady had insight from the coaches/staff up in the press boxes.

If word of Morris condition came over the head set there were several people had headsets on to make sure Brady knew. (IIRC Nuss had a headset on)

Was this a bad situation yes.

Is its a case of one person being incompetent? No I do not think so. Its a series of events that came together.

Unless a miracle happens, Brady's time here is done at the end of the season. This was a series of small mistakes that led to a larger one. I do not think there is one person that can/should take sole blame for it. IMO it "could" have happened with any team.

TCU @ Baylor next weekend looks like the most important B12 game of the season.

Texas is a 14 point home dog to Baylor. I wonder if we stick with the 3-3-5 and ask Baylor to run it all day. Perhaps Briles gets impatient, but the next 2 weeks will be rough.

Texas had 190 yards to Baylor's 129 at half but trailed 0-7 due to a blocked 52 yard field goal attempt (Nick Rose has made 3 of 7 FG's and had 2 blocked) returned for a TD. Texas finally had some speed on offense with the return of RB/WR Daje Johnson from suspension, but he immediately tweaked his hammy: 1 carry for 5 yards.

Bryce Petty: 7/22 for 111 ... Baylor rushing: 60 attempts for 278 ...
Briles stayed patient. Texas's impressive D finally got tired in the 4th. Nice to see playing Texas HURT a Heisman hopeful's chances for the first time in years.

Until this week, Texas's Offensive Tackles (sort of important) were a guard playing out of position (Perkins - Soph), and a defensive tackle that made the position switch like 2 months ago (Hutchins - Jr). Texas' running game showed signs of life (40 carries for 190 yards) against Baylor's solid D because of the emergence of a young tackle (James - RS Fresh) that allowed Perkins to move back inside to help our undersized "280" pound center (Raulerson - RS Fresh).

Swoopes seemed to regress, missing a lot of open receivers and most of his completions were still poor throws... 16/34 for 144 with 2 picks.

I wouldn't say very bad, just avg but they are going through huge changes. Kind of like USC who are just starting to get back in reality. They are better than Michigan :)

I think Mac just felt like untouchable like JoPa at Penn State. He was too old or just too rich to care anymore and the team went off the rails with entitlement, and thinking you will win simply because of who you are and what team it is without working for it. Charlie Strong is fighting to get the team back down to earth.

They also just lost their QB this year which is a huge impact... Ohio State fans blew it off a bit thinking we wouldn't lose a step. JT is great though so far. Guy is farking amazing considering. But it takes on the field experience to get going plain and simple.

We fortunately stole JT Barrett from Texas :)

I recorded the MSU-NU game and the recording cut off with 10 minutes remaining in the 4th... I was pissed. Nebraska got handled up front for the first three quarters but it sounds like when they went to a hurry-up in the 4th they were able to move the ball. The defense actually played very well other than a few miscues. There was one fly route for Lippett that worked on the replacement corner on the play after the starter got hurt, a run by Langford that was botched and a double reverse to Lippett that Cook made a hell of a block on to save. Other than those three plays and a few deep passes where Nebraska gave Cook way too much time, the defense played very well. IIRC, Cook was 11 of 29. The problem was that the O-line couldn't do anything right. I'm still not sure how Nebraska ended up with a legitimate chance to win the game at the end. Moore had the ball in the endzone to win the game but he dropped it.

LEAVE OUR DEFENSE OUT OF THIS!! LOL

Just wait... your AD will decide to ditch Richt some day. After all, he's an underachiever like Mack except Mack tripped over an MNC. For your sake, I hope it's before Richt mismanages the OL and QB positions for 5+ years and leaves a dumpster fire to face a brutal schedule.

That said, the new staff is impressive. Texas was an average QB away from beating Baylor. All i want is progress week to week.

QB has been a problem for the last 5 years. Murrary would keep chocking in the big game and he'd keep giving him the ball. the OL is soild. it's the secondary that's god awful. Pruitt said when he got there he realized that he had 1 player in the entire secondary. 1. that's not good.

As for "clapgate," it has been blown out of proportion by the media. Pelini offered an honest answer about why the center had some mistimed snaps and said he'd ask the league office about the legality. D'Antonio then said the defense clapped as part of their pre-snap communication. That's it. No feud like they want you to believe. I personally think it was illegal based on how the rule is written (regardless of intent) but apparently the league says it doesn't apply to clapping.

Frank Clark is a monster.

Once again the 'Under the Lights' night game didn't disappoint and the stadium atmosphere was tremendous. With everything on here in Ann Arbor it was awesome to see the fans and more importantly the players amped up for the game as evidence by Devin Gardner on the sidelines and Dennis Norfleet pumping the stadium up with his dancing while waiting for kicks/returns.

a) I would be suprised to see them beat MSU
b) winning the B1G is like me bragging about hitting a HR in a teeball game.

the winner of the B1G will be on the outside looking in on the playoff because that confrence sucks.

p.s. it should be noted that I did not brag or say that the Mizzou win was so damn great anyways. Douglas had a highlight worthy play that's it. furthermore I even said, "where has this defense been all year or are they that damn bad?" They being Mizz.

I have been wondering how Jameis's lawyer is like "this crazy wh*re wants 7 million in money now!!!!" and making up all kinds of BS to sway opinion. Just out and out lying.

and this is why Mark Richt still has a job. no way in hell this piece of shit would be playing football let alone even on the team if Winston was at UGA. not a chance in hell. in fact I'm floored that with the accusations of getting paid for signatures(just like Gurley) that he's not suspended.

rape, blantant public theft, obnixous public behavior and just a general social slug. this is Jameis Winston. this is a pattern of behavior that will not change or simply go away with age. I really hope NFL teams show some courage and he doesn't get drafted. F*cking piece of shit.

That was definitely a hell of a game. All the damn flags though made it take so much longer than it should have.

I went to the ESPN boards expecting to see lots of crying from fans about the refs but it was minimal. The one guy in particular was saying the officiating was so one-sided and blah blah blah. Look at the stats. Baylor was flagged 18 time, WVU 14. That's not one-sided that is pretty damn balanced considering Baylor had 7 PI calls alone.

The coach had to remind him "Humble pie Jameis, Humble pie Jameis"... How can someone who can't control himself even pass a college level class? The dude was out of control, Fisher saw it and talked him down.

That mindless rioting racked up over $45,000 in damages. Kids are being expelled as the University intends to show they are quite serious about this kind of behavior. Burning couches is one thing (tradition since the 70's), but tearing up public property and throwing shit at the cops and firefighters is well over the line.

I also thought LSU would pull the upset, but considering I said nothing prior to the game, it doesn't matter. As for the spike deal, if you're gonna do something like that you better be ready to back it up. If you're already in over your heads, you don't need to do anything to motivate the other team even more. Somewhat similar to how MSU shut down Nebraska's run game after Pelini's comments that we've run on them before and we'll run on them again.

Not very surprised by the apparent regression of Swoopes against KSU. He was a project QB that straight-up wasn't ready for prime time, so steady improvement is a pipe dream. The O-line played it's worst game in weeks (a 1st quarter injury didn't help at all), and the officiating cost us some points. KSU would have won regardless, so who cares. Texas has to win 3 of 4 to get bowl eligible: @Tech, WVU, @OkieSt, TCU ... I see 2 wins: Tech and one of the other 3 (probably OSU since we own them). I still believe in Strong and will patiently wait until at least 2016 to begin judging him. Better take advantage of it now, rest of the B12 :)

at least we're not like FSU and letting the crab leg stealing rapist play anyways. that dude would have gotten kicked out a long time ago under Richt.

Louisville had that game easy... but at the end, the offensive play caller loses his mind...

You get the ball on the 10 yard line, you take it easy up 3 and punt to give them the ball

then the next series 3rd and 2 and you bomb it? then you try it again on 4th? FSU is over rated big time.

Like it would have mattered? 1-10 on 3rd downs with the 1 coming in garbage time. The FSU defense smothered them in the 2nd half. Loserville blew their load in the 1st half. While everyone was going crazy then, I sat back and waited for the inevitable. Lot of talent there, but they are very young.

indeed. I ran into one at a bar a couple of weeks ago while they were playing a chit team. the bar changed the channel and he pitched a fit. I politely reminded his fat ass that a real game was coming on and everyone else at the bar wanted to watch that and that I had no problem showing him the difference between my 220lbs and his. :) ok well maybe I wasn't soooo polite. ;)

I think the Mississippi teams are rated appropriately. Miss St was bound to have an ugly game eventually but they found a way to win as good teams do. Ole Miss lost to a top 5 team in a game where both teams were trading blows. Nothing to be ashamed of and it's not like they were blown out. The game could have easily gone the other way.

cmon stop pushing the SEC is the most bestest in the world hype. The missisipis are flukes, they are good teams but normally spoiler teams. I mean florida beat Georgia... The sec always has weird games where some unranked team whoops up on the best team in ncaa! Missouri is the top team in the west division and it got beat by Indiana... no one in the big 10 has lost to Indiana... NO one... not even Iowa lost to Indiana. Even Michigan beat on poor ole sister at Indiana :)

Now florida should be a top 10 team right? :) Missouri lost to Indiana and Georgia and is ranked what 18th? Please... this playoff bullshit is already showing up... rank all the sec teams as insane! woot the playoffs will be 4 sec teams! yah!

Just put the damn 4 champions in the game, stop playing these ranking favorites bullshit... don't worry the big 12 will always knock themselves out of contention...
