I am looking for someone that is near Sugar Hill Georgia that can stop by a performance shop for me. There is 25k invested in a LS3/Trans combo that I need to see if someone can stop in to take a look at.

PM me for details if you can stop in please.

Bill

I'm 3.5 hours out, however IIRC there are a couple guys down in the ATL area that should be able to help you out.

That would be cool. A couple buddies may end up flying down to solve this.

Yeah 25k large. Looks like the local news may be interested in covering it when they show up. :p

Very interesting, what's the backstory?

600hp LS3 & Trans, broke in, and tuned on the dyno, plug n play for a Camero that will go 130k+ at the auction which may not make it now. Guy has been playing games for 2 months now after it was supposed to be done, and shipped. Somewhere around 20K down, and the guy won't accept anything but cashiers check, though his site clearly says Visa/PayPal. Cashiers check means no teeth to fall back on if things are not as they say.

It's down to showing up, and getting money, or product. However that goes down! Neighbors, news, and the PoPo are aware of it now, so will see what happens soon.

One solution agreed on was COD after checking product at the shipper last week... He decided to lie about agreeing apparently as he is now not answering any phone calls.

That the engine/trans exists, and what state it is in. After searching the forums apparently he has sent a used engine out before claiming 500hp.

Tickets are reserved for tonight.

He is claiming that he called for pickup this morning, but after a few phone calls the places he ships from, and 3 other shippers have zero info stating as such. More info found (amazing how his suppliers are willing to give up the ghost) The special intake was ordered on the 1/17. The engine was to be already here and going in the car 1/11. He ordered the wrong intake (extra charge, blamed on the supplier/manufacturer), then claimed that the manufacturer was out of state for 2 weeks. (He was at a 2 day car show on the weekend) The good part? He owed the intake company money, and they would not release the intake...

He has till 4pm his time to verify shipping was ordered through the company. So unbelievable how people lie their way through shit when the truth would be much easier... :( I told him he should have gone with NRE! :p

This probably would have stopped me from using him.

why did you use this guy all the way over here? was there no one that could build an LS motor closer to you?

CoopKill

Not sure how he made the down payment, but I got my fact incorrect about the cashiers check. He will only accept a direct transfer/wired for the remaining owed. Sketchy at best...

This is a long time buddy not me. He seen his engine at an auction, and wanted the look, and ability of a complete plug n play engine/trans. My buddy has been building top quality cars for many years. He is not a trusting pushover. Somehow he was lulled into security with this guy until the issue started to add up...

We have a step forward! UPS picked up something, but unsure if it is his. Tracking number will confirm once the driver returns to the shipping hub.

After all the Bullshit that has been gone through with this company, I would steer far away from them. It took 4 people calling, 2 of the companies neighbors, a reporter, 2 of his suppliers, UPS, an emailed hold on plane tickets, 3 calls to the authorities, 2 calls to the BBB, 1.5 hrs of a Lawyers time, and forty five days to get it on a truck after it was supposed to be.

Now to see if it runs when it gets here...

Sadly this is an all too common story in the performance world.... This platform has had a few issues, but overall we have it pretty good. Seems like I see a stories like this all the time on drag racing sites.

These guys get in over their head financially, and are trying to present a big time image but don't have a big time bank account. They won't admit they're broke, so the bullshit starts to fly...

Hopefully he figured out a way to complete the build without cutting corners....

Will find out early next week sometime. Popping the pan will have the story for us.

After having issues like this, and no longer trusting the builder, would you just bolt it in your car without taking a peek at what you got for your money..?
