I think its a noise coming from the differential. It is somewhat of a rythmic clicking noise that can be heard only when taking off from a start, especially when turning from a start. I can also be in first gear and driving up a steep incline and get the noise to occur. Cruising in first or any other gear, I can't hear a thing. Finally got around to looking under the car today, and only thing I can find was a leaking seal on the transfer case. Running Red Line Shockproof Heavy fluid in it and I drained it so it still had fluid left in it, though maybe a quart. No large metal fragments, but a little metal residue on the magnetic drain plug, though it looked nothing out of the ordinary. Back to the noise though, just from the little information I have on it, would that be a sound either a differential bearing would make or something that the power steering pump on the rear differential could make?

Sounds more like a bad CV joint to me.

Doc is probably right. I don't think rear diffs make a click noise, it's more like a grown, clunk or smash. lol

Looks like that was it. Passenger side rear. Any good places that you guys can recommend for a remanufactured unit? A quick look around amazon and ebay didn't look like much but the front axles were being sold.

Rock Auto appears to have some Re-man units if that's what you're looking for.

Find someone parting out their car, you can usually get a axle for 50-70+shipping

Yeah, I prefer a reman unit. Rock Auto seems to be out of them though. A few other places I tried were not stocking them either. Anyone know of a source for the re-manufactured units if anyone has had to get one recently. Apparently the rears are difficult to come by.

damn near impossible. All those drag guys seem to buy up all the right rears, lol.
