My gearbox is coming off in a few weeks to have a SCE center diff installed. While I'm at it I'm thinking about installing an uprated clutch so that I don't have to drop the tranny again if I get a flash ECU and start tuning a bit.

I know that the RPS Max series with the street disc has a great reputation for both quality and driveability however it's not cheap.

Are there any other decent alternatives out there?

I'm not looking for anything extreme just something that will work on the street and track and handle around 400-450 hp.

I have the South Bend 4fe which feels like stock, but not cheap either...

XTD stage 4. Holds great and feels close to stock. Use an OEM TOB thpugh, that's my only regret...

Well, not the best way to do it, but I ultimately ended up buying the RPS Max Pressure plate and OEM Clutch disk separately. Was cheaper that way. I think I got the OEM disk for $80 (IPS Black Friday Sale 2012), and the RPS Pressure Plate from Maximal, for $450 (Black Friday sale 2013).

You may be able to contact each of them, or one or the other, and try and work out a deal with the individual pieces (plus a TOB).

Edit: $580 for the Max Pressure Plate and Street Disk from 3SX

RPS street disc, no question. I have run both the full face disc and am now using the sprung hub 6 puck. Both were very grabby for the first few miles but once broke in, they both seem to engage super smooth. They also have a quality reputation and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks guys. Seems like I'll be ordering a RPS Street Max clutch from 3SX then.

Not many people run them, but i love my Competition Clutch stage 4 Sprung. I got it for $300 off ebay and its taken one hell of a beating without issue. The springs havent popped out and the rivets on the disk are still tight.

I really like this clutch, but it is pretty heavy. I'm a little worried it is slowly down my shifting and is hard on syncros.

I will be going with XTD on eBay. Good reviews and it is like $180.
