how's it going guys?
it's been terribly icy out the past couple of days here in beautiful texas, and naturally i had to take some pictures.

post up your pictures of your car in the frigid death, or your cows, or dogs in the frigidness.

went out for a drive, saw a steep hill, where i didn't see myself making it to the bottom without damaging my car. just as i decided it was time to turn around, i started to slide. luckily, we just ended up here. Perfect time for a picture or nine.

http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r171/shmooly/getting%20Cold/DSC_8520.jpg

and the abyss that i was headed towards.
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r171/shmooly/getting%20Cold/DSC_8527.jpg

so, we turned around, where i saw another road that seemed intriguing. i was actually looking for an abandoned town and a cemetary, but never find it. but i did find this.
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r171/shmooly/getting%20Cold/DSC_8531.jpg

i couldn't get him to come to the fence. hard headed..

http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r171/shmooly/getting%20Cold/DSC_8532.jpg

it was all solid ice. texas winters seem to be no joke.

post up your cold weather pictures!

Got 4 inches of snow Friday, temp has been up and down. Some of it melted off yesterday, but then we got our low of 2 degrees F last night. It's still around 3-4 now.

Yesterday at the shop needing to push a car in.... I was thrilled.

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k252/lnmccoy/ForumPics/snow1_zps4ec965ca.jpg (http://s90.photobucket.com/user/lnmccoy/media/ForumPics/snow1_zps4ec965ca.jpg.html)

Had to shovel a path and broom it off.... Didn't have anyone around to help push it in.

In the shop thawing out:

The roads are all skating rinks around here.... The thawing and re-freezing makes it pretty brutal.

It's weird seeing more snow ice on the street than on the grass and mountains. Like it only snowed on the roads, lol that looks very slick.

Me too, I keep mine in the garage from October to April.

With all the the salt and stuff on the roads here the cars rot away in no time if you drive them during the winter.

More or less. You need a special gun. Youtube it and you'll see lots of good stuff on it. Less than 1% VOC so even the post office can ship it. Some local autoparts stores sell it. About $36 a gallon which does 3 cars. Not harmful for environment, not toxic when spraying, doesn't drip, never dries up like oil undercoatings, not conductive so you can use it on battery terminals, not flamable so it's alright if you get some on the exhaust, can be used on plastic and even tires as tirewet etc.. I did about 10 different vehicles this year with it for friends/family.

Huge ice storm went through Vermont over the weekend. We lost power for a few hours this morning. Some places have been without power for over 48 hours now. It's still freezing rain/snowing right now. I can walk right on top of the snow/ice on my lawn without it crunching. I can even jump. I had well over an inch of ice on my vr4. It took me over an hour to chissel it all off. It took me about 10 minutes before I could even get the door open.
