I have a 1995 3000GT Base. It has over 190k on the chassis. 35k on brand new engine/trans and most other major mechanical parts. Its in really good shape. This guy has a 86 starion turbo with 80k on it. Its in very good condition. Is it worth an even trade?

Depends if you like Starions or not.

I would consider it, i've always wanted one for some reason.

Depends if you want to go faster :). I probably would go for it.

From what I understand about StarQuests, they are even more of a money hog than a 3/S/GTO to get reliable and even then, they are less reliable than a 3/S/GTO.

Starions are pretty cool. It would just depend on if its worth it to you., Plus hey you could always swap a 4g63t into it if you wanted.

It's really up to you. Like OBX said, they're even more of a money pit than a 3s. If I had the spare cash, I'd buy one and 4g63 swap it... :D

4g63 swap is awesome...finding a tranny to work + adapter = not so fun.
at least from what i read.

again, like what others said, id consider it if it ws in good condition. ive thought about doing it myself twice.

i would do it but you would be trading reliability for speed. the vacuum line setup on those things is ridiculous, so there are a lot of things that can go wrong, and its usually pretty obnoxious to trace down issues

FYI the Injector setup on 86's were DIFFERENT and NOT interchangeable with other years of Starions. This has some major advantages and disadvantages.
