Had to turn it down to 20psi ~600WHP due to traction issues in the fall weather.. As soon as the temp dropped and the roads got cool traction goes wayyyy down.

Thanks. I plan to recirculate the wastegate back into the downpipe. With the exhaust that's on the car now it's pretty quiet when cruising and there's no drone in the cabin, so you can have a normal conversation. When the 'gate opens on boost all hells breaks loose..! Would prefer to be stealth mode. :peelout:

Ya definitely has the stereotypical Supra sound (good thing). I think it will sound even better recirculated.

What size/kind of tires?

Also, how do you go through so many cool cars? You just build them and play and then sell them? Don't you loose a lot of money doing that?

19" Toyo (almost bald) R888's They hook pretty well once they've got a little heat in them. In warmer weather they'll hook 650 wheel in 2nd gear no problem. It was in the mid 50's that day and below 65ish traction goes way down. Once I get a fresh pair and square up the alignment in the rear I think it will hold 700 wheel in 2nd in good weather. They key to traction with this setup is the power delivery is very smooth and it doesn't make a ton of low-end TQ, so the tires aren't shocked loose. It had way worse traction problems with the stock twins, and then with the dbb 6266 I had before.


I buy/sell/trade cars somewhat regularly as a hobby. They key is to buy nice clean examples, keep 'em clean, enjoy them and then move on to something else. I typically don't make any money, but I usually don't loose much either -- at least that's the goal. I intend to keep this Supra so I'm having fun with different setups. I wouldn't go crazy modding anything I intended to turn over, so I sometimes buy them already built. :)

That's purely awesome man, pretty bad ass how it breaks 2nd in cooler weather. 700rwhp must just be stupid in a car like yours if 600 is furious like that. Is there any end power goals?

What other vehicles do you have currently? You seem to have pretty good taste with cars

I would imagine those are pretty sticky tires (maybe not so much when bald and cold lol). You run slicks at the track, right?

I wouldn't mind switching cars up once in a while to experience different things but I feel like once I mod them (at least the VR4 I have) I will never get the majority of my money back.

And I agree, awesome tastes in cars. I would love to drive all of the cars you have owned. Throw in an M3 and I'd be set!

I would agree with your findings on that. Having a loud exhaust is cool when you're 21, but the drone gets to be overwhelming as we, men, grow out of that phase.

Fast and quiet with a mild rumble in conjunction with the sound of turbos spooling is enough to keep me happy.
