Stock Head Unit Issue

So the previous owner of this car installed a pioneer single din, and it just sucks. Good thing is he used harnesses for the speakers and the deck there are a few other wires one of them is a power wire from the fuse box that went to a yellow wire on the deck, the other I'm not sure it goes to the deck as well and what appears to be 3 ground wires. Anyway I purchased a double din off ebay it came with the security code. But when I plugged it all in all I get is the amber light. When I press power no code comes up. I can put a CD in it spins ejects etc. So I thought I'll try to enter the security code with out being able to see, when I press the 4 button it beeped but I still do not get a display or sound.

Where can I find the wiring harness details. The car had the 10 disc changer option so thats one of the S-Video looking cables, there is a second one which I assume is for the amp the main harness, and then a small plug like the main harness that only has one wire. I assume this plug with one wire is the stewing wheel controls. Oh and there are two antennas.

Any suggestions as to what would cause the display to light up but not display text?

You're probably missing a wire for the dimming circuit, it's a black w/yellow stripe that goes into pin 12 of D-47 (it comes from the rheostat).

Need to get a test light to check but the Black and Yellow is in the pin. The deck powers up, when I turn on the lights the buttons light up as well and the steering wheel controls seem to work. I can change modes and all that just no text on the display at all. I think this guy sold me a bad deck, hope Paypal actual stands by my side if he fights me on a return. $125 of nothing.

Can you dim the lights on the HU with the rheostat?

Yep all that works. Just not text on the display. I've seen many posts about Infinity Radios having cold solder joints?? The daughter board on the side had come loose. Plugged it back in the radio and CD all work now but still no display. The unit has been opened before I suspect there was an issue with it when the person sold it. Sucks there are no more units on eBay. I'll post in the wanted forum hopefully a local parts yard will have one and not try to rape me on the price.

Got the new head unit from a forum member it was indeed a problem with the other head unit. Now I have to send this one back to the seller on eBay so their tech can look at it. Watch they try to fix it send it back to me. ugh.. I was like look I know it's used but if it's not working right now, it's going to be a pain in my ass moving forward.
