Whats up guys?? It has been awhile.. I have a quick question.. Today I was messing around with my car and I noticed that the cam gears have 2 marks on them... The dot which you line up with the valve cover and it's another line on the other side of the gear.. I'm still trying to figure out why my car doesn't run. A guy told me my timing was off which I thought was crazy because all the dots lined up with the valve covers and the motor was at tdc when I did it 6 months ago . Haven't really messed with it in 6 months and I'm tired of seeing it sit. Been that way for 4 yrs come march 2014 lol..

the one set of marks line up with the top of the valve cover, the other set lines up with the side of the valve cover.

So the dots line up with the arrows so to speak?

the one set of marks line up with the top of the valve cover, the other set lines up with the side of the valve cover.

The lines on the gears line up with the top of the valve cover (triangle and square). The dots, not lines, line up with the arrows on the side. Mitsu built in dual redundancy with the timing marks for the cams. The top set is for in car alignment and the side set is for out of car alignment.

The single line on the cam gears align with the triangles on the valve covers (they are on the front exhaust and rear intake cams). The dual lines align with the squares on the valve covers (they are on the front intake and rear exhaust cams). If you stand directly over the valve covers, you can see the triangles point to the single lines and the squares will fit between the double lines on the gears at #1 TDC.
