When: Saturday, October 12th
Where: Hocking Hills area, Ohio

A facebook page for the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/411925735579694/

Here is a tentative schedule and route for the day:

10:00 am: Meet up at Walmart off of US 33 in Logan, OH

10:30 am: Depart for cruise through the Hocking Hills area.

Here is a proposed map of the route: http://goo.gl/maps/sTOVo

Our cruise will begin on SR 664 and take us down to Hocking Hills State Park, where we will make a stop at Old Man's cave, the most popular stop in the Hocking Hills area. We will begin at the Lower falls and continue our hike through the cave to the Upper Falls. It is approximately a 1 mile hike.

Our cruise will continue through the area, as we head over to the Conkle's Hollow State Nature Preserve. Here we will stop for a hike up to the top of Conkle's Hollow, where you will be treated to amazing views of the valley below. It is approximately a 1 - 2 mile hike.

Depending on where we are at on time at that point, we may make a stop at the Rock House.

Please keep in mind, that due to the physical activity, I suggest that you bring water to keep hydrated. We will not be making a stop for lunch, so you may also want to also bring snacks along to hold you over until dinner.

Our route will resume, heading East on Thompson Ridge Rd/SR through Laurelville, and then onto Sr 180 W up to SR 374 on to US 33 where we will head back to Logan for dinner.

5:00 pm: Dinner at Millstone BBQ in Logan.

After dinner we will head over to the campground so those of us staying overnight can get our tents set up. The campground also has go-karts and mini golf, so everyone is welcome to join us there for some fun.

I reserved two campsites for the group. The sites are fairly big and can accommodate up to 3 tents each. So far it looks like we have 4-5. I figure we can all split the cost, and it should only be around $10 a person. If you are interested in camping with us, please let me know as soon as possible.

Ok, the campground reservations are made! I reserved two campsites for the group, and a bundle of firewood. There is room for 6 tents between the two sites, and we are at 4-5 right now, so there is still room for at least one more tent if we need it. If anyone else is interested, please let me know.

Only two days away now!

Just some reminders if you are joining us:

Make sure you have 1/2 tank of gas in your car before we take off. Total actual driving time on the cruise should be about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, and there probably will not be many places (if any) along the route to stop at.

Bring along water/drinks and snacks to hold you through dinner.

If you have an FRS radio, bring it along. We will be using these to communicate on the cruise.

Make sure to wear shoes that you will be comfortable hiking in.

Bring your camera, there will be gorgeous scenery!

If you are camping with us:

Dont forget to bring your tent! Make sure to have either a sleeping bag or warm blankets for sleeping so you don't get cold. Overnight temps look to be around 50.

Bring a lantern and/or flashlight if you have one.

Bring camp chairs for sitting around the campfire. It will get chilly at night around the fire, so don't forget to bring a sweatshirt or jacket.

Bring along any beverages and snacks of you choosing.

See you all on Saturday!!

Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us the other weekend! Jeremy and I had a awesome time hanging out with all of you guys!

We had a great time at Old Man's cave, even though it was a zoo. I loved all of our crack-jumping, tree-climbing shennanigans at Conkle's Hollow, that was a blast! The cruise was scenic, and fun (aside from all of that pesky traffic!). Was a great ending to the day with conversation, treats, beer, and lazers around the (barely-there) campfire. :)
