View Full Version : Blip of 28 counts of knock/pop, what caused it?

So I was out testing my new meth system (went from "instant on" to progressive). Running about 18 psi and did a few 3rd gear pulls to make sure things were good and had to tune my methanol failsafe device. Then decided to turn up the boost a bit closer to my max dyno pull. At about 5500/6k heard a loud pop/backfire and saw my knock light trigger. Did not sound great. Everything was running fine after. Turns out I hit 28 counts of knock. The weird thing is my airflow and IDCs dropped off before the knock. AFRS jumped lean during this. I'm wondering if this was blowout?

Spark blow out.

Pull out one of the front plugs really quick and examine it.

Can I ask what you are using to view the logs?

Toni created a custom log works file that converts the excel logs created by EVOScan into what you see. Very snazzy program! I use it a lot. :)

Hmm, these plugs are about 18 months old and with the recent meth testing, I probably fouled them out. I am just running coppers so cheap enough to do a quick replacement.

Yup! I use Innovate's Logworks program. It's normally used for their widebands and data logging devices but I wrote a converter script to be able to view evoscan logs. Here is the thread with more info: http://www.3sgto.org/tuning-engine-electronics-ecu-discussions/12168-viewing-evoscan-logs-logworks-evoscan2logworks-converter-tool.html.
