I was boosting down the highway yesterday only a few miles from home and had a hose blow off the front turbo - whoosh... no power... dead on the side of the road waiting for a tow. Could see, but not reach for a roadside repair.
Car would start and run fine for a few seconds but would then immediately die because most/all of the air the engine was using wasn't going through the MAF.
Is there any sort of limp mode that could be used (triggered, for example, by disconnecting the MAF) which would allow me to at least get the car safely to the next exit? I imagine a combo of startup settings, closed loop mode and very limited rev cut would work. Any thoughts?
