Recently when going through the junkyard I can across a V1 DSM Link Dongle and serial cable. I have read up and found that these are pretty rare to find and are the key piece to the DSM Link EPROM communication/re-flash for the DSM's. Now the ECU for the car was already pulled so I wasn't able to get the Eprom Chip itself from the ECU.

My question is can someone still use the DSM link dongle or are they matched to the Eprom chip?

Just looking to flip this item and want to get all of my info on it before I post it up for sale on ebay or what-not.

you cvan still use it their is no set dongle to chip. but your problems is that dongle only works on gen 1 ecm link now and almost everyone has gone to v3 because it makes v1 loks like it wass drawn with crayons in a cave

Good news..! It will work just fine. Bad news.... No one will probably want it. :dunce: This pretty much sums it up:

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to throw it up and ebay and hope it makes it's way back into the DSM community.
