View Full Version : No Fuel Pressure. First Start Up

I got some help from some people going over the what-to-do's of a first start up. I think I'm running into a common problem that all the usual fixes haven't worked on.

I have zero fuel pressure. The fuel pump, fuel pump resistor, and fuel pump relay don't have power flowing to them. The ECU and the MFI are receiving power. Power is leaving the MFI. I was told that the MFI provides power to the fuel pump relay. I don't know what I'm missing then?

Anyone have any ideas? I've been picking at this problem for about a month. :Dismal:

Have you blown the #12 fuse lately?
You could try an amperage draw test on the pump through the test lead.

OK! Is fuse 12 in the passenger cabin? Also how do I do an amperage draw test and where do I test through. I thought I knew what I was doing but now I feel like I don't know anything about what you just said :confused1:

Yes #12 in the cabin. The fuel pump test lead is in the corner of the engine bay behind the battery(black connector) if you supply positive power to that connector, the pump should run. Run an amp meter (capable of handling pump draw) in line to the connector & it will show what the pump is drawing for amps.

Thanks. I'll try that tomorrow and report back with my findings
