View Full Version : Garbage.. Is what to expect from C7/Cianci

I think I'm posting in the right section, though I'm not sure since they are not a vendor here. If not, please move this thread.
I placed an order on March 29 for a Carbon Fiber Combat Wing for my car thinking since the swap to C7, maybe things have gotten better...
I called them a few days later (Around April 2-3) asking about my order. The guy on the phone (same guy I talked to every call, though I don't know his name) said that it was in the final stages of getting made, the CF blade was getting cleared, and it would ship out on April 9th with the rest of their orders. Lie #1. I also had asked if the caps for the wings were CF or fiberglass. He said they were CF. Lie #2
I called on April 10th after not receiving a tracking number, inquiring about the status of my order; if it had been shipped and if so what the tracking number was. The guy on the phone had said the same thing he said last time; the wing was getting finished up and would ship "soon". Seems like they like to tell you that line and rush you off the phone. Lie #3.
After waiting a few weeks (around April 24th), I had a friend (Sean) call to once again ask about my order because I was too busy at the time to call and they were way overdue for an angry call from me. I told him don't take none of the "its almost done and about to ship" crap, and he was informed of everything. Sean called, the guy told him my fiberglass combat wing would ship in a couple of days, Sean caught this and corrected him arguing that it was CF not fiberglass. (So hopefully whoever ordered the fiberglass one isn't in the same boat as me right now). He then said the tracking number would get to me in a few days. Hooray! The truth for once.
I received the tracking number May 1st and was tracking the package anxiously waiting.
Upon opening the box today (May 7th) I found the caps to be made out of fiberglass. "No biggie" I said as I pulled the CF center blade out the box next, stunned at how good it looked - at that time.
In a hurry to see what it looked like on my car, I lined up the side pieces and drilled the holes into my trunk and mounted them...
Then.. I tried to put the center blade in. With no luck at first, I loosened the screws holding the sides to just a few threads for some play. Still, there was no way I was ever going to get the center blade on; its warped too badly..
I am outraged that I waited over a month to receive a product that fits like shit and costed over $700. They will be recieving a very angry phone call and will either refund my money or rush me a new center section because now I have holes in my trunk.
Pictures in next post.

It's not bolted all the way in this picture (thats why the gap is there), this side fits perfectly.

Almost looks like you have the centerpiece upside down in the picture. It's been a while since I've had one to look at for reference, but IIRC the curve is supposed to bow to the bottom.
Unfortunately, it looks like the fit will still be ass.

No, it only fits in the slots on the ends this way.
That is really crappy. They should really refund you fully if they want to keep any reputation.

If that is the case then they made it upside down.
The OEM combat wing is flat on top with the bow on the bottom.
I'm sorry for all of your issues. :(

flip it over and switch ends, see if that works.

I'll try that when I get home, but I'm pretty sure I have it in the right way.
I contacted C7 and had a conversation with them which I got him to check the email that directed him here for the pictures and I was offered a full refund or I could wait a few minutes to see if it was a mold issue. He called me back a few minutes later after building both a cf and a fiberglass wing and said they both were strait. He is supposed to be sending me an email in a little while with his name, pictures of the one he built mounted on a car and that would be the one I would receive, and a shipping date for it.

It took him a few minutes to build a wing in two different materials... but yet took over a month to build yours . I wouldn't believe a word they say LOL.

Plenty of pictures on our site of their fiberglass wing. No problems with fitment from the last few we have received.

So after communicating with C7 a few times this afternoon (keeping me up to date pretty good), we found out their is something wrong with their mold. The one they tried to fit on their car was worse off than mine.
They are refunding me in full tonight or tomorrow and letting me keep the faulty wing. The mold will be fixed but he could not give me a for sure date.

Hans, do you have any in stock right now? If you can take one out of the box, mount it on a car, and send me pictures of it showing that it fits, I will buy it from you. I did not even realize you guys handle c7 products.

Unexpected update:
C7 called me and said they had still been working on this issue and they think they found the problem. It wasn't in the mold.. And I didn't really understand after that but something about one of their former employees doing it wrong making it shrink or something.. Idk..
They ended up finding some that worked good on a car and will be sending me pictures of it tomorrow to see if I like it or not.

I don't see the reason for the snide remarks. They have been more than accommodating to him to find any problem with their product or production procedure and solve that issue. I guess some people will never let bygones be bygones. It sucks too, because they are close to canning all 3000GT products.

You know... I was really hoping with the name change there would also be some change within said company. But no, it still the same game. You might want to give him some pointers, because he just isn't getting it.
And what just infuriates me even more is the fact Ryan/C7 is a deceiving... something not nice. They, knowingly, takes pictures of ANOTHER company's product and tries to pass it off as c7 carbon's own work.

I think the way this particular situation was handled was the best way possible to make him happy. A full refund and keeping the product. I can see the issue with shipping. It happens. Especially when exporting from another country. If shipping times are becoming an issue, and demand is still there, we would stock the products ourselves. But the demand for the products just isn't there, so I won't be fronting much money to keep the items here. I'd rather stock corvette stuff that they make.
I guess I'm not sure why I keep pushing him to keep making 3/s parts. I personally sell 10x's more of his corvette body parts than 3/S parts. Shipping is almost always on time.
Don't worry April, we will have pictures of their kit up in the next month or so. We have one of the kits coming in on monday to be installed here at the shop. Ryan will have full rights to those pictures.
hans, the issue isn't with how it was handled--at least not this time. the issue is "oh, it's a former employee who fucked up". yeah, fucking right. ryan wouldn't have a set of balls if he were sitting on top of 12" roller bearings.

Update.
The product is fixed. I have pictures of the wing I will be receiving and it looks like it fits quite well. The tracking number should get to me by Tuesday and a return label will be included to return the defective part. This one will also include carbon fiber caps I was told. If I get this one in and it fits like its supposed to, I will be completely satisfied.
