Multiplayer games for pc

So me and another member on here are wanting for find a good multiplayer pc game . We have kinda become bored with bf3 and want to avoid.mmo's . Anyone have any suggestions ?

Thought about Counterstrike? I havn't played CS:GO yet, but CS 1.6 & CS:S were a real good time back in the day.

Edit: Are you looking to stay away from fps's, or just mmorpg's?

Stay away from mmo rpg , I have an addiction pro led with mmo and want something casual can be picked up at a moments notice but can he played for a few hours and keep entertained .

If the new sim city did not have such bad reviews ....

Lol unless I'm running a vehicle or playing tdm I do get owned , CTf is fun though . Played planetside moat of December but It's novelty wore off pretty quick the lack.of winning or objective.in sight was what bothered me .
Thought about setting up or joining a mine craft server , but on the fence of the game.over all , I put like ninety hours into terarria which is 2d minecraft

ARMA. steep learning curve but once you find a good server with good people it blows console ports like BF3 away.

This. Love this game when I can spare time. Once summer hits and classes are mostly out (I'll be taking some summer courses) I plan to get back into it.

Borderlands 2 is also a lot of fun. Think something vaguely akin to a first person shooter meets Gauntlet meets Diablo. Lot of fun playing with 3 other people. And, since it's DX9 based, it's not toooo hard on older graphics cards.

Its a MOBA, a lot like DOTA and Leage of Legends but in 3rd person. You can pick it up any time you want and play just a game or two.

Meh..D3 was so lackluster. Hate the always on DRM bullshit. And it was so buggy and busted that the AH is trashed. It had it's moments, and it was fun to play with 3 friends and wreck shit, but still not enough to redeem all those other flaws from launch IMO.

Last physical one I owned was Dark Legacy. They released the Seven Sorrows after that in 05. Played that, it was good. Didn't buy it though. They have it on XBOX Live Arcade and via..whatever the PS3 has for that sort of stuff. Think they also have or had Gauntlet 1 or 2 on there as well.

i platyed marvel heroes beta weekend.was mediocre i think having the same characters would be tedious but the mechanics seems solid

How far into the game did you get? How many characters did you try?

I like that the different characters play very different and you can hot swap them at any time.

i guess i only played one mission after the intro mission as that beta weekend i was in i had my kids. and only played as the thing

I played 2 characters up to level 18 or so. It was a meh kind of game but passed the time and allowed me to chill while playing unlike battlefield or chivalry where I am in the zone the whole time.

Thing and hulk are boring to play at lower levels.

I've had a lot more fun with Iron Man, Cap and Spidy. Spidy is the weakest of the three.

The first area (city) is a bit boring and repetitive. The next two zones are more interesting with more varsity of things to do / fight. Crafting is looking to be fun but I need to level the crafter more so I can get better stuff.

may give it a chance here in a months or so . wish it would have came out in january i coulda used that during all the months when i was layed up haha.
