Tactrix 2.0 won't read- Sending init sequence 2? Suggestions

Hi folks,

Got my clone ECU installed. Car will start with it. (99 clone ecu with the 92-99 external harness). I want to program out the gen 1 changes, so I installed ECUFlash (win7 -64 bit laptop installed to c:\ecuprograms) and hooked up the Tactrix 2.0. It tries to connect, gets to "sending init sequence 2" then stops and says theres and error and to check the log. Any thoughts as to what causes this? I checked each pin on the "jumper" harness before installing it with a meter and all match the harness schematic. Any thoughts? I have over 12.8 volts on the battery and had a charger hooked up to it also. Any thoughts on what to check as I "google" around?

if i had to guess, either your ignition isnt on, or you dont have your flash plug plugged in. i may or may not have done both of those once... :suspect:

Greg- that is the error. Lol. It says "sending init sequence 2" then the next line is "interface close". Then you do it again and get the same "error".
Future- I thought the same. The reflash was plugged in and ignition on. I tried a good 10 times, rebooting etc, changing ignition switch positions. I even pulled out the connector from the ECM and used a meter to make sure the reflash tip was going to the correct ecu pin. When it did the "sending init sequence 2, it sounded like the fuel pump would kick on(or something in the rear hatch area) briefly.

I read that some win7 64 bit folks complained of similar issues when I was googling including a relay that would kick on during the "init sequence" but I didn't see any solutions posted. I'm going to load ecuflash on an old xp laptop to test with tonight after work to eliminate wih win 7 variable.

Verify if your adaptor harness has the pins setup correctly for the OBD2 plug.

Greg- you called it. On the OBD2 plug, pins 1 and 7 were pinned one slot off (like I looked at the diagram backwards). I am logging now... Thanks guys!
