The dyno session was a bit of a last minute deal, so had I planned better in advance I would have done a little more methodical testing, and been more diligent gathering data. I wanted to get some baseline numbers before doing GSC S1 cams and GSC Beehive springs & retainers, and had a list minute opportunity to strap her down and make a few pulls so I jumped on it. My intent was to see how far I could safely push the stock fuel system, so I dropped in 5 gallons of VP 110 on top of approx. 5 gallons of the pump 100 octane I typically keep the car filled up with – I don’t have an interest in pure pump gas numbers on this setup.

Boost peaked at 1.34 kg/cm2 or 19psi, but settled in at 18.5psi
It started to lean out on that pull -- note that the dyno’s wideband was reading a half point leaner than my own -- mine never read leaner than 11.8. I was still removing a little fuel (I think 5% up top) on that pull, so I zero’d it back out and did one last pull to make sure it was safe, and ended up with:

Boost peaked at 1.32 kg/cm2 or 18.7psi, but settled in at 18psi
The car is an absolute blast on the street as-is. The 6266 literally spools up quicker than the stock twins and is super responsive. I can start a 4th gear pull at 2500RPM and it pulls like a V8 with virtually no perceptible lag. Can't wait to do the EMS and fuel system and turn it UP! :bigthumb:

Nice numbers man. I can't believe how easily power is made with these cars, especially given the fact you still have a stock ECU.

Amazing power at just 18 psi. Super clean bay, too. Congrats! Looking forward to your updates.

Those 6X66's are amazing on a supra. Can't believe what just one will do at 35ish psi. Hope someone try's a couple on a 3S vs twin 6262s.
Looks like a fun car for minimal mods. When does it get more fuel?

It's crazy seeing how well the 62, 64, and 67mm turbos perform on a built 3.4L and a stock 3.0L Sound Performance did. The 66mm turbine turbos are a good choice.

They are very rewarding, indeed! Everything with them is just easy...!

Thanks, man. This turbo is just starting to wake up -- I went from 509WHP to 526WHP to 560WHP with .5 -.7psi increase between pulls. The next round of updates will be:
GSC S1 cams
GSC Beehive springs & Ti retainers
Titan/ATI crank pulley
Titan Billet tensioner mount (replaces the weakest link in the timing hardware since the S1's will make it an interference motor due to the lift)
I'll dyno again after the aforementioned, but I think I'll end up having to back the boost down a little until I can get some more fuel in it. I'd like to get to the track as it sits and run some 10's.

These new-tech turbos are amazing. For comparisons sake, my old 6sp Supra with the old school ITS 72mm took 21psi to make 564WHP and it was 800-900RPM behind the 62. It was only making 10psi at 3800 and the 62 is all-in by then. I am not exaggerating when I say this 62 spools quicker than the stock twins, and makes 100WHP more with 3-4psi less boost...!
I'm probably a few months away from fuel upgrades. I'm getting married in May and that is raping my mod budget...! :eek4: Not to mention I just picked up a built to the hilt FD RX-7 that's at the tuners getting the full E85 treatment. It's a built Bridgeported & pinned motor, billet 71mm, Haltech, ID2000's, etc... Should be an absolute animal.:bigthumb:

I was initially planning to start with the 6766 but I ended getting a killer deal on a brand new 100% complete PHR turbo kit that came with the dbb 6266. I even considered selling the 62 before even trying it, and now I'm glad I decided to give it a shot. Considering it will still make 800WHP and spools up so damn quick I may end up sticking with it for a while. We just installed a 6766 on buddy's Supra - a downgrade from a 76GTS - and he gained 1500RPM worth of powerband, and it makes similar power...! He has HKS 264's and an AEM so it will be an interesting comparison with mine.

I've debated between the 62 and 67. They're both awesome turbos and it's cheap enough to switch around for more peak power if the 62 wasn't enough. Compared to the Comp, FP, and GT turbos of similar specs the 62, 64, and 67mm PTE turbos have been great performers.

That would be way too big imo. Tons of lag although it would put down some serious power. Ray's 3.5 twin 6262 was already slow to spool. You can get the 6266 and 6766 in BB or JB options. The 6466 is only available in a BB option. It seems that the BB only gains 50-200 rpm of spool over the JB. Results may vary on the street and you may get better transient response under various loads but the extra $5-700 isn't worth it to me. $1k for a 6266 or 6277 is really cheap. You just have to get past the lack of single turbo kits available for our cars.

Going off topic now but the 6262 dynos on 3.5's didn't look bad to me. Look where they cross a specific tq number, like 500awtq, not peak tq to compare to other setups. The 964awhp td05 6262 didn't look awful to me. The 676? mivec was definitely more lag than I would want. If 6266 vs 6262 results translate from single to twin, it's no more lag than but more power :). I am probably leaning a little smaller though 900awhp sized vs 1000+ if/when I upgrade. Like 76mm exducer FP Red or 5857/5858 is about the same.
Back on topic...great car HB! Almost makes me want to jump ship...almost. It's sick what you can make with that ONE 6266 with a great powerband!

Street vids
3rd gear brake stand
also I want to here the classic supra sound of the tires breaking loose during a pull and it hitting limiter and shit.
that is all.

Forced performance has just released ball bearing versions of the green, red, and black with a mitsu td05 flange hot side for dsm's.
