Tapatalk issues

Hi all,

Anyone else have these issues?

If I don't sign out I constantly get email notifications while this doesn't happen on the autoguide version.

When viewing unread posts it only list a certain amount on the page but when you scroll down it updates and loads more but it then shows all posts as read instead of unread.

I'm sure there are more I just can't think of them now.

I may need to update the tapatalk plugin.


But we have a true mobile skin so a app may not be needed any longer.

I'm not experiencing the constant email notifications here, but I do notice the latest Tapatalk client ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tapatalk-2-for-iphone/id585178888?mt=8 ) is having problems loading subscribed threads. It just returns with 'no topics found.' For the other forums that I use this version of Tapatalk with, this isn't an issue.

Also Alan, if I can suggest, please don't force those of us that use Tapatalk into using some sort of mobile theme instead. In 9 out of 10 cases, a site's mobile theme is just a stripped down, bug-ridden, not fully optimized and flawed version of the full site that's completely annoying to use. Tapatalk, when kept up-to-date, seems like much better choice. Plus it's another avenue for people to find us on when they search the Tapatalk directory for 3s's, GTO's, etc.

Yeah if you go to mobile browser I will stop using it. Tapatalk is easy and fast. Browser is just annoying on a phone.

Obviously the iPhone version is different to the android one. Also I have noticed each forum handles subscribed threads differently. On this one it's participated. On gtooc it's favourites instead. On it's own tab. Favourites tab is there on this forum but it does nothing.

Edit: actually I just tested the favourites tab and it now shows the same as the participated page. On gtooc it shows nothing under participated.

Favourites and participated should be two separate views. Favourites are for threads you're subscribed to, while participated generally shows only threads you have replied to.

I like Tapatalk... As discussed... Easier on phone (android here)
Have similar issues with loading unread threads, but not major issue.

Would be nice to have spoiler working animated gifs & to turn off sig. I know some of it is os issues.

Yeah GIFs is one of the other issues. Sometimes it shows an avatar animated GIF but in threads they just show up as a non moving pic with a band through it saying GIF.

Autoguide just updated their App to what looks like tapatalk 2 and now has the multiple email notification issue I have with this one. Have to sign out after using it. Drives me mad having to sign in and out every time.

Another issue is if you start in the participating threads page and read 383798464 them go to the unread threads page it still shows the participated threads in bold so you don't know if they have been updated since reading etc. Have to refresh to find out.
