The frame was cut up and quickly disposed of because that's what chop shops do. Just the Motec EMS, Tilton clutch, Penske suspension and PTE 8891 were worth 20k street-value. Definitely heartbreaking - almost like a death in the community. That car (regularly street driven, BTW) went 8.5 @ 176 at WCF with diff issues and it sounded like they were going to make a run for the record. According to Jess it went quicker and faster last Sunday and then popped a freeze plug out of the block which shut them down for the day. Darin's shop was full so they parked it over night at her condo and sometime between 10pm and 4am at was whisked away; evidently flat-bedded with the slicks and skinnies still on it.

Wait, what's that you say? She had recently blown the engine, and her precious car was parked in the street? The car had full coverage 'agreed value' insurance? She has a GTR now?

I saw the pictures and could not believe my eyes, not because the extent of the chop but the fact that that car is sitting in the exact same lot that my built turbo s2k was a month ago chopped in half. The people that took my car either cut a key or put it on a trailer and had it totally stripped in under a day. It got taken from my apartment building in Winter Park and i'm not really sure if its that close but I recognized the lot immediately in the picture. If you live in central Florida and have a highly modified car you had better put it in a locked garage because this kind of stuff has been happening there with increasing frequency and it seems that these thieves are pretty professional.

Jeremy
A lot of insurance companies still don't offer it.
But I agree, I would never drive around without an agreed value policy.
My homeowners insurance company (Allstate) has been trying to get me to switch my cars over for the last 2 and 1/2 years, but no agreed value option, means I won't switch. Finally got a call from them today, saying they are looking into getting me agreed value on my cars since they just changed some of their policy options and guidelines on agreed value, etc.

01-09-2013, 05:13 PM
I know a lot don't offer, but there are plenty that do. So, you find one that does. Sink that kind of money into a car, that sees the streets often...got to have it. It's just asking for it, being as high profile as she is, with a car built to that extreme. A moving target, if you will. Not that I'm condemning her at all, this situation sucks big time.
I had a ton of money in my Stealth, but it never saw street duty, and was always in the garage at IPS so it was covered under their insurance. Had I brought it home, that would've been the 1st thing I did, get it properly insured.

A> Automatically assume this whole thing is a legit tragedy for the girl
B> Make excuses for her not having an agreed value policy. If this was a guy, half of you would be lighting him up for making such a stupid mistake.
Also, if it isn't a scam, why slice the car into pieces? Regular thieves who just want to fence high value parts aren't going to waste time cutting a car into wedges. They'll strip it, dump it, and GTFO.
However, cutting the car into pieces guarantees an insurance payout.
At the very least it's highly suspicious. But since it's some 'pretty girl' on the internet, the leg humper brigade gives her a free pass. :lo5l:

Having your vehicle sitting on a trailer is worse than having it sitting on the ground. Much easier to steal. Unless you have that trailer seriously locked down. I can back my truck up to a trailer and be gone with it pretty damn quick.
So in a way it was kind of "out blowing in the wind". Anyways, that's my thought. Hope I read that comment right. Either way, sucks to be that Supra.

Last I heard she had over $150k into that car, so while it's possible this may have been staged, I would say it's unlikely. However, it is odd that they cut the car up like that IMO. Only reason I could see thieves doing that is to make the pieces easier to dispose of, rather than having an entire chassis laying somewhere.
Either way, it's a bad end for a car.

Agreed value for a $100+ Supra? Not sure how insurance works in your country, but there isn't an insurance agency in Australia that would do an insane figure like that for a Japanese sports car. It's old, parts are hard to get.
Also - I don't want to add to the conspiracy debate, but leaving that car outside, unguarded and unprotected is just crazy, regardless of how full a shop is.
Isn't there a FB thing going around about this gal?

LMFAO! So I take it you must have committed insurance fraud and gotten away with it? Only a liar assumes everyone else is lying... I'm not assuming anything, nor am I making excuses - just relaying the facts that happen to contradict your wild assumptions. I'm hardly a leg humper, but nice try with the poor attempt at deflection in attempt to regain some credibility - I can see your one fan is impressed. Hell, I used to side with Saad on all of the old hilarious feuds from back in the day, but that's neither here nor there... Of course you likely don't have a clue as to what I'm referring to, since you've never been involved in that community, so no need to continue down that path. Regardless, I could give 1/10 of 1 shit that Jess owns the car; Darin is the one who's built it from the ground up. He's the one that's out all of the sweat equity regardless of what insurance ends up paying out. They had just completed a big upgrade/overhaul, gotten the car re-certified, ran its quickest time ever in preparation to dominate at TX2k13 so what in the hell did they stand to gain by committing this alleged fraud!? Would you start throwing out the same groundless accusations against Ray or Matt if something like this happened to them? I guess by your defective logic if you read it on FB then it must be true, right? What a fucking joke...
What's so sad is your half-ass ridiculous assumption - against 2 very well known, respectable and credible individuals in the motorsports community with an international presence (do you even know who Darin is?) - is based on ONE! random loser quoted on FB, who is very well known by all of the locals as being a complete pathological liar/borderline psychopath, who's words are not grounded in reality and simply a cry out for any attention it can garner. Congrats! You cracked the case with all of your credible sources and woman-hating assumptions!!! :brilliant: Scumbag idiot...
While we're at it... Since you've evidently skimmed over the facts, I'll re-introduce you to this:

Same place, chopped in a similar fashion. Are they in on that one as well, Sherlock? Cars are chopped up at "chop shops" because it 1) speeds up the valuable part removal and 2) makes it much easier to dispose of afterward. This is not something new in the central FL area. You'll likely never see a Type-R on the streets there nowadays because they've all been stolen and chopped! But I guess since these types of facts aren't broadcast to whatever hole you live in, it must be all BS, right...?
BTW, what's with the acerbic contempt for 'pretty' girls? Scorned or shunned much? I don't recall this as the first time you've had nothing but negativity and hate to say about women. Get some help or stay in your hole...

Ahem...
We found the house they used to chop up the car, and also have 4 suspects that we know are 100% involved. Thanks to our detective along with a friend of ours (MustangWolverine) on this forum. They have been working together and have gotten a lot of information very quickly, they have done an amazing job! We have a warrant for 1 guy already and will have one for another guy next week. We are also VERY close on the other guys and the place they got all the parts...just a matter of time now. These guys are scared, they are now resorting to threatening Jessica through email that they are going to take her GTR next.
They were able to get a search warrant on the house by looking over the fence from a neighbors yard and saw Jessica's supra hood and front bumper along with what looked like other stolen parts. When we got to the house there were about 10 officers there and they had one guy that was living in the house handcuffed. The house was FULL of stolen shit, tons of stolen motorcycle frames, about 12 license plates from stolen cars and bikes, stolen stereos in the kitchen cabinet, hid lights in the drawers, interior plastics laying all over the house. We found one of jessicas tial wastegates on top of the a/c unit, her complete wiring harness on the kitchen floor...the front subframe from her car was laying in plain sight under their carport, still had the trd motor mounts attached but everything else was stripped off it including the strange front brakes. Parts of her roll cage were sitting on the floor, all her lugnuts, starter and her racing harness. My racing gloves were sitting on the table in the front room. It was just unbelievable, stolen stuff everywhere..everything that had a serial number on it at that house came back as stolen. They found a complete stolen motorcycle also that they were hiding behind the neighbors house..
They still have a shitload of parts from her car though, engine, trans, motec, clutch, etc and we are going to get it back. We are close..
Here are some pictures of the POS house they were working out of, about 10 minutes away from where we live.
