So my 93 R/T TT had a serious steering wheel shake under braking. Oddly, it wouldn't show up under slow speed braking, and occasionally you could panic-brake very hard and it wouldn't show up, but an entry to a freeway offramp braking zone could generate a very serious shake.

The fact that it didn't happen all the time eliminated warped rotors as a possibility.

What did the trick was replacing the front lower control arm rear bushings - the big bolt-on bastards. One was completely shot; the other was iffy.

Note that on my car (an early build date 93) these bushings are not identical; there's a left and a right.

With those bushings replaced, there is a slight, high-frequency, low amplitude shake during very hard braking which is probably either a mildly warped rotor or maybe some slop in the steering rack somewhere. But the difference pre and post bushing replacement is night and day.

I don't detect any other handling change, and the bad bushings were not detectable by trying to wiggle the wheel around.
