My 360 is at Microsoft. This was my first 360 I bought and it lasted almost 3 years and Microsoft is fixing it for free and paid for shipping. Not bad.

My PS3 is in a closet with Yellow Light of Death. Paid $600 for it. Lasted almost 3 years and Sony wants $150 to fix it plus I pay for shipping. My wife wants me to fix it or buy another so she can watch her Blue Ray Twilight movies.

Not happy with Sony. I defended the PS3 to all of my 360 friends. Graphics are better, Blue Ray is sweet, free internet, NO RED RING. Irony is a bitch.

SC ForgottenOne is my gamertag I play most shooting games and rpgs online, I am on my pc more times than not though. strange I have 4 360's and a short story with each lol.
first one I bought got redrings while i was in iraq, so I bought a refurb online when I moved to a JSS off the main base (never had time to play so it was a waste of time) when we arrived at the JSS we had to clean out some living quarters that were very similar to an over sized shed with cots.while cleaning we found two xbox 360s. One black elite system and a white arcade system. the white one worked and was given to a friend and I took the broken one (open tray error) got back to main base and when time was available I would use the refurb and started learning how to fix them. A friend of mine had his old pro system get an open tray error so he bought a new one and beat the crap out of his old one (we call this kid beefstick cause hes skinny like a slim jim) well i took the poor 360 in battered and beaten, opened it up along with the black one and adjusted some laser eye screws and both worked flawlessly. beefstick didnt care and said I could keep it. I get home send my first one to microsft and they repaired it for free. then the elite system got the rrod so i took the new sticker from my first one, put it on it and sent it in after I accidentally scratched some trace on the mobo. well i must have covered it up good enough because they sent me a brand new elite system (w/o hd of course). so that makes 2 perfectly good 360s, the refurb is still working good and is set up on my hd projector at home through hdmi and the one from beefstick had gotten the rrod again and i did the x clamp replacement and it worked great. I got the beat up one and the refurb in use right now with the other two in back room as backups haha. of course while im in there i loaded them all up with LT 1.2 firmware so they read burned games (makes things nice) so far all xboxs have not been banned for any reason (knock on wood).

well that was a little longer than I thought, cut some out so i didnt drag it on all day haha. feel free to add me, I have mainly focused on Reach and Sniper ghost warrior recently.

Next in line is the new black Wii and a PS3 so I can finally play my BluRay movies. I just hope non of them die on me out of warranty.

I should also say, if I find myself playing the game for so much time, I do go out and buy it. I am not a 100% pirate. It's just the games that I play the campaign once through and never pick up again that I cannot justify spending money on.

Is there a way to tell what brand of drive is in your xbox without opening it up? If so, how? I'm going to have to look for a second xbox so I can do this. mine is only a few months old.

I actually have one of the last old-style Xboxs sold. It came with Forza 3, Halo 3 ODST, and a 120GB HD for $250. So I bought it as opposed to the slim.

See, I knew I wasn't 100% correct. I only have a hitatchi drive and have only flashed 1 time. So I am only speaking from what I figured out from that experience.

I have 2 friends that want to flash, but they are LiteOn drives. :P I told them to split the $60 cost.

Too bad it takes 40m to burn a game. Currently burning Fallout New Vegas.

For those that have flash drives, do you go on XBOX live with those systems. I know xbox periodically searches for specific firmwares loaded on systems and if it isn't the right one, they ban you from XBOX live. Are you guys using a software that spoofs the original firmware??? If so, mind pointing me in the right direction. I do repairs, but haven't tried modding since I heard so many people have gotten banned as a result.

It all depends on the ISO before you burn it. There is a program called abgx360 (http://www.abgx360.net) that checks the ISO, creates the .dvd file for IMGBurn so that all the settings are correct, mainly the Layer Break setting. It then checks to make sure that the ISO is "stealthed", if it isn't, it attempts to stealth it and fix it for you. Works 99% of the time except with unreleased games.

I personally don't get on Live because I don't care to pay for it. I never really play too religiously.

My friend got Fallout New Vegas and he says its full of bugs. He said if it wasn't for the bugs it be a great game. Hopefully an update comes out soon. Anyone else experiencing this problem? For instance, there is one gun that every time you fire it, the position of the gun on your screen raises. It can block a good amount of view and he got it to almost raise off the screen. lol.

LOL more like 1 min! I have a ck3. Its so easy its not even funny! Lite-ons are about 10 mins tops. As far as the halo 3 and forza 360, they have the lite-on 9000 series, with are the harderst to mod. They require cutting, soldering and more.

Last night I finally got my training for power armor and I upgraded to the T-51 power armor so now my guy can take a beating. I love the LMG, the MG Grenade Launcher, the Riot shot gun, and the Gauss Rifle! One of the best things I did was the quest where you end bring Cass to Silver Rush and you stick up for her and end up killing everyone at silver rush. I made so much money and the weapons/armor I got from there was awesome! That being said, it def need a patch because it can tend to get a little glitchy although I haven't had it crash yet or anything *knock on wood*

You have now gotten further than me. I am about to take Cass back. I have 0 armor, and terrible weapons, I can handle this. I like seeing how far I can get through the game on the OEM stuff. :)
