Went to the BMWCCA fall driving school at GMP, the NG13 track. This will be your first sneak peak at the track and a few of the possible lines. Note that this is the POS 325i, and the 3S will probably take a different line through 1-2 and 6 depending on how hard your car can turn in. You'll see people track out and cross over too much between 4 and 5 or delay turn-in for 5. Both are pretty unnecessary given the speeds you can exit 3 and enter into 6 and will cause you even more grief with our pushy cars under throttle. I haven't really analyzed the vids or data to see which lines were better.
This is a pretty unforgiving track. Walls are close in and runoff room is minimal. That being said, surface is decent, curbing is high but smooth (no FIA). Surface is grippy, pretty abrasive (keep this in mind if you have good tires......you can cord a star spec from almost new in a day, just saw it happen). This track kills right fronts if you push them through NASCAR 3 and 4.
More importantly: NASCAR 3-4 will kill your engine if you let it. It is a very high G left turn that takes forever to get through. People who were at NG03 will remember. My advice is to take it slow and in the highest gear possible to slow oil consumption, and overfill the crankcase a bit. I'm sure even with a baffled pan, you'll have to keep an eye on the oil pressure gauge.
On to the vids, they are wide angle so everything will look slow motion and cars will look much further away than they are:

Next school or HPDE, I should have a 3S up.
