...came in the mail today completely unexpected as it wasn't supposed to be shipped for another week. When I first ordered it they placed an authorization hold for the full amount (normal) but the next day it was gone. So now 10 days later I get a 32Gb tablet and so far haven't paid anything for it. I checked the Microsoft Store and it shows NO order history for my account and I never received and order confirmation from Microsoft.
What would you do?
It's pretty awesome TBH.

I'm sure they'll eventually charge you for it. But yeah, throw a review up. I'm debating on a tablet and this is on my radar.

I'll play with it later when I get home and let ya know. Just from playing with it for a few minutes I noticed the touchpad is SUPER easy to type on. They keys are slightly raised.

I'm interested but this one hasn't got me sold (already have transformer infinity).
Now once one version bridges the gap between my infinity and my laptop even more, I will certainly consider.
As for the keyboard, I haven't used that one, but I like the feel of the infinity chicklet keyboard (and extended battery).
I am glad this is out though, look forward to the merge between this and ultra books.

Sweet!
I've been rocking a w7p since they released and used WIN8 during the beta/RC period, and i can't get enough. Although windows 8 really needed a touch screen to make the most of its streamlining, my laptop didn't do it justice, but its very quick and nice to look at. i just can't get enough. I really hate that windows phones have gotten so much crap just for having the windows name attached to them when it's a fantastic platform. A salesperson at at&t tried their very hardest to get me to buy something else when i went in to get a new phone, it was ridiculous. But if people want to keep shoveling their hard earned money into the furnace to get the *new* iPhone every year, I guess that's their choice.

congrats maybe you got a clerical error? that was very early...
i heard those keyboards are the best out there. you dont want the raised key one.
Ill go for the Lenovo flipper pro 8 when its out. 1k is not bad. I have a thin 256 gig ssd waiting for it. Hope i can toss it in myself

I like the looks of those. I would have seriously considered getting one if they were out while I was still in the market for a tablet. As far as being charged, it is likely they'll find their mistakes. Multi-billion dollar corporations generally do.

Gonna do a brief review of the things I like and dislike after the first day of use.
First off both keyboards are awesome and super easy to use. I can type just as fast on both as I can with a normal keyboard.

Multiple user accounts make it convenient for other people in my family as I wont have to worry about them getting into my stuff. There is a restricted child account option available. Switching is fast and all accounts can have their own picture password using 3 gestures for unlocking.
Just tap current user or switch users from the lock screen to switch.

Picture password lock screen.

I like how I can bring up all running aps on the left sidebar by swiping in and holding. I can also switch back to the last app I was using by simply swiping in.

I think the skydrive integration is really smooth. As with all my accounts, I signed in once and everything auto syncs via wifi. This is the same for Facebook and other social networking sites.

I like how many apps look similar across platforms. The store looks like it does on the xbox and skydrive looks identical to the pc version. This goes the same for the mail service.

I don't like how I cant save images from online storage directly to the tablet but I can do it via desktop mode, that sucks. There might be a way but I haven't figured it out. The cameras don't seem to be that great but who uses a tablet to take pics when most smartphones have far superior cameras. The touch cover is made of a very fine felt material which seems like it could get dirty easily if you don't have clean hands. The Windows Phone 7 marketplace is separate from the new Windows App Store, I don't like that. I'm curious to see what Microsoft has in store for a Surface phone.

The only thing I didn't initially like was how most tablets have their keyboards laid out just like that. I ended up switching my keyboard to the picture below. I can type way faster and keep my hands on both sides of the tablet.

How is the app selection? I personally use dropbox and Google Drive for my files, do they have something for them that integrates as smoothly as Skydrive does? Office 2013 for RT just like the desktop version?

As far as I'm aware Office uses SkyDrive and updates Office docs just as if you were creating a document with google docs. As long as you have cloud backup enabled it saves your Office docs in real time. App selection is perfectly fine for me, I can find quality games and apps on every platform, Windows included. What I like about the Metro style is how the apps are designed, as long as they follow the Metro standard.

Any updates? I've had a thing for the Surface since it came out.
Seems great for students but I can't really justify it when I still have my Kindle Fire that is easier to carry around.

The app selection is growing but not as fast as I would like. Where it shines is the Skydrive integration. I like being able to edit an Office document without having to have it saved on my device and access it anywhere I have internet. I have to charge it about once a week but I'm sure that will not last forever lol I think the Surfaces' greatest strength is the operating system. I think Windows 8 is so smooth and easy to use on a touch device. I'm curious to see what updates come with Windows 'Blue' this year.
I really think a non-touch desktop PC running Windows 8 could benefit from some type of touch pad that can recognize gestures and finger motions w/out the need for a mouse.
i heard that nook might be going away...because MS is buying the brand. dunno if there's truth to that, but i found it interesting. guess MS is f'ing serious about tablets.
