This is our latest build. Just thought I would share. Not been here in a long long time.
The car is a Pearl White 91 RT TT. This is a customers car that will net about 850 at the wheels when complete. We felt it importent that the car look the part as well. So we started by cleaning and white Pearl the entire chassis. Replate "all" hardware. Up dates later.

I will post as it comes together. Here is "Black" being used for detail work. To make it stand out rather than to hide.

Wow, that's tidy-

How do you record the proper hardware location before it all went into that heap?

If you had to pay for it, it would not be plesent. But, On the other hand, all this work is included in a package deal. Every car we do is different. This started out as a power build began else ware. When we had been asked to finish the project,
I did not have the heart to put it together with out making it look the part as well. So this has got to look like it can get the job done. Even standing still. This is a combined effert from TCtech ind. (motor) and me (Project consultent/Designer/builder).
You can find many more post about this build in the DFW section old forum. I have this and 2 others to finish up and than will be spending much more time on own projects. Time frame to clean every bit of black undercoating off and prep for paint about 30 days. Grrrr.
This entire chassis was cleaned and scrubbed with a stiff bristel brush not much bigger than a tooth brush. Plenty of more pics in "GTwizard" photo bucket for those that wish to know what it takes to do this.
Except I did not like it the first time and ended up painting, sanding, and clear coating twice. It sucks being picky. Here are a couple more pic to play with. Although this now has the rear wheel steer delete, The steering line on the right side of the car are now for fuel. LOL.
WE will run no covers over the lines, as there is a look we are going for. And covers have no place on this build. Enjoy.

You're setting quite a standard with that type of work.

I've done a bit of this, and if you find a customer who will make it worth your while to indulge your own idea of perfection, it's pretty sweet.

If it happened more often, I might have never stopped doing cars.

Not a lot of takers for this kind of work. Far and few between. I do my best to make this affordable. So not getting rich by anymeans.
But this work does allow me to build these TT cars (that I love) with out having to own one. I love building them, but doen't want 1. Hell, Don't need 1. I have these to play with. LOL.
Just wish to be the best what we do. Others like Pampena have made a name for themselves. WE are trying to do the same. But it is a lot easier to find people willing to put money in to motor
rather than the rest of the car. Our current claim is NA fame. 1 day My own NA should look this good.

Beautifully stated.

One might say the fame that doesn't come from under the hood is sort of "NA" by comparison.

Keep it up, then. :)

Thanks every one. Lotsa hard work. Now if I can just get the engine in the bay and as STYL-N I'll be all set.
This build is called "Long Horn", So the next colors will be "Metalic Burnt Orange", (almost light brown, TXU colors). I hope this tones down the bling by a long shot.
The fear is I don't want it to look like a "Creamsicle". LOL. That wouldn"t exactly be manly would it. LOL.
I will post more pics as it goes together. Goal is to Dyno and deliver befor Christmas.

Unfortunately it's never been taken too seriously in this platform.

What? My work? A projects chassis? ME? Or my NA? LOL.
Doesn't really matter. Never seen anyone one do what I do with these things.
And Nov. TXG Dyno and 1/4 runs are coming up. NA should be back in action.
We will see then if the car can't move a little deeper into TT performance tarritory still being NA.
What's not to take serious?

Looks great! I would love to do this to my car someday.

You need to get yourself one of these, though!

That's a no shitter, been loking at them. If I do an other for sure. Painting UP sucks.
Thought I would slip these in. This is our "Steam Pumk" NA trans almost ready for install.
No paint, just clear coated raw metal. Hope it looks good in my bay? Gotta role in 8 days.

Most think it's a waste of time considering you can get big power bolting on turbos. I know why you do it though, I always enjoy the conversation at NG.

Oh and you stilly :p

GTwizard

I have a lot farther to go before concidering turbos. I most likely never will. If I was to drive a turbo car, I really don't think I'd waste my time with such a heavy Plateform car.
Our FD is our choice when it comes to turbo fun. FWD and turbos just don't make much sense to me. I may feel a bit different once I start playing with the LSD though.
But than I would be competing with all the other turbo cars. Doubt I could compete with all that big turbo stuff out there. Here being NA I have a nitch that no can touch, Not sure I wish to give it up. LOL.

Then you should adopt a turbo-car and do both.

You know you want to.

GTwizard
10-31-2012, 06:30 PM
Oh but I have. Adopted that is. That is why I build these turbo cars as I wish to see them and hope it is along the same lines as what the owner wants for them selves.
I do love them. And I get to drive what I build. I Guess for now, I already have the best of both worlds.
If I had deeper pockets, and a 12 car garage, I would make room for 1. For now, the little toy serves my needs.

GTs posts inspired me to wire brush and spray undercoating in a couple spots while I installed the WB O2; but its still pathetic in comparison lol.

My FWD TT had zero traction in 1st ,2nd and 3rd at times. At the time I didn’t have an LSD but yeah that’s why I did an AWD conversion. Just stick with what you are doing. Like you said, you have another car for turbo fun.

I've only ran it once and had a bunch of trouble when I did. I did something like 13.8 at wasegate but had bad issues when I started turning up boost. I kept hitting the over boost on the BS LCD. By the time I got it straightened out I missed the fast 8 by .01. :(

Last year I only did the road course. The car is set up for that but I'm definitely drag racing it next year. I was disgusted because the year before.

WE will know soon enough if we run good this year. This is how it is now.
