    jesters maf reviews

Hi all, i have some boostmore billet 15g turbos on the way to replace my 13gs and thought i might run out of resolution on the stock maf sensor...not exactly sure what the symptoms would be if i did. Has anybody used the jester maf or have any reviews on it? Thanks. Almost forgot...i'm running chrome ecu.

I don't think there are any detailed reviews of the Jester MAF. I've tried the following combinations:

    - Stock 618 MAF
    - Montero 482 MAF
    - MAFT with Z06 MAF
    - Jester/Chrome MAF

When I tried the Jester MAF I got much lower load values compared to the stock MAF and MAFT + Z06 MAF. The load values affect fuel, ignition and boost tables so I didn't progress any further since it would be too time consuming for me to change all the values I've spent 2 years fine tuning in my Chrome tune.

You can read more about it here: http://www.3sgto.org/threads/16234-N...544#post336544

If someone came up with the proper scaling/size values for the Jester MAF so that it matches the load values from the stock MAF it would much simpler to make a tune for it.

Thanks for the reply Unlogic i did see your post on that but was hoping to get a little more info before i purchase one. Were the load values off across the board or only in certain areas? Isn't there a table in chrome for maft scaling like there is for injectors? Since i'm going to have to re-tune some with the 15gs anyway do you think it would be a better way to go? The cost seems a little high $450,. but i don't know what the Z06 maft and translator costs. How will i know when i've reached the threshold with the stock maft, will it just lean out under high boost/ hard acceleration causing knock? maybe i'm already there. Thanks for your help!

The load values where much lower than the stock scaling so it created all sorts of issues for me. If you haven't already purchased a MAF then I can really recommend the MAFT + Z06 MAF combo. It uses the same scaling as the stock MAF which makes it very simple to use.

The Jesters MAF uses the same values as the stock one.

Thanks for the input Greg.I've been away for a few days... I read that it uses the same values and plug and play sounds like the easiest way to go. Still waiting for my 15g's to show up. I have td04l 13g's on the car now and am wondering how I'll know if i need to upgrade the maft. Do i just watch the 2 byte air flow numbers and if i go over 2700 it's time to upgrade or will i hit a wall where i get lean/knock that i can't tune around...I'm hitting a little over 2600 and 190 load right now with the 13's. Thanks for your help!

When you see the MAF numbers going haywire is when it's time to upgrade. Most people never see that limit.
