Help! Blew tire and need replacement

My car is at the shop and while they were test driving it after all of the mods added, they ran over a razorblade and blew a tire.

    I have Toyo Proxies 245 / 40 R18 on there.

So, I can't just replace one tire, correct? Can I replace in pair (if not a single)? Do I need to replace all four?

BTW: My car is a 1994 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo

    Thanks!

    they are 4s

unknown mileage since they were on the car when i bought it in october of 08.

i put 8k on them myself. i would guess they probably have about 18k on them since prev owner got them and only drove 10k total during ownership.

Hrmmm...not too many miles, but how does the tread wear look?

Is the shop going to pay for the tire?

If it was me, I probably would buy 2 (based on the mileage stated) and put them on the front (they get the most "turning" wear), then after about 5K swap the fronts and rears....(save that other one...you might need it!!)

This is just an opinion, if I could "see" the tires, I might have a different one....

Buy a new one and have it shaved down to match the height of the other tires.

The most important thing is to keep the over all diameter the same between all 4 tires. Typically what this means is purchasing 1 new tire of the exact same size, make, and model. If the old tires are within 2/32nds of the new one, you will have zero issues. If there is a larger gap than that, you must have it shaved down, like previously mentioned, so that it matches the others.

Thanks guys. I'll probably just end up getting two tires. I was just concerned if there was the slightest mismatch in height it would throw something off -- like in newer AWD vehicles (or so I've been "told").

two tires? That's still not good, any difference over 2/32" from front to rear is going to eventually wreck the VCU. Side to side difference isn't particularly good either, especially in the rear since it has a VCU as well.

if the tires are almost new you can replace one, but it sounds like they are worn, so your gonna have to try and patch that one, or get a new set. It sucks to replace all 4 but its better than replacing the tranny.
