So I just picked up the Serious Sam gold edition from Steam for $10, comes with 1st and 2nd encounter both Classic and HD. Been fun playing an old school "kill waves of baddies with tons of guns and ammo" style game. I've been hooked into the STALKER series (and Metro 2033) for a while where the encounters are small and ammo is precious. Going old school has been a blast.

    So whatcu playin?

    Unhappy

I just picked up that gold pack too. I loved this game back in the day. It's nice that they redid it in HD. I would honestly rather LAN a game like this or Quake 3 than the new Modern Warfare and Battlefield games. I enjoy shooters that focus on timing and reaction speed. Not that I don't enjoy the newer shooters, but it's nice going back to the old school every once in a while.

Whenever I feel like playing again some real competition I play on www.quakelive.com There servers for the higher skilled players on there are intense. The snap shots people can make behind them while flying through the air bouncing off the walls with a rocket launcher are ridiculous.

    Desktop:
    AMD Atholon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz
2GB Ram (looking at this I should probably upgrade lol)
    8800GTS 512MB
2 500GB HD (Dual Boot Windows 7 on one, Ubuntu Linux on the other)
    28" 1920x1200 Monitor
Also hooked up to 42" TV for watching videos and playing games.

    Laptop:
    Alienware M11X (rev1):
    1.3GHz Core 2 Duo overclocked to 1.73GHz
    4GB of DDR2/1066 RAM
    500GB HD
    Windwos 7/Ubuntu Linux Dual boot.
    GT 325M

I don't do much gaming, right now the only thing I really play is FIFA 2011 (just upgraded from PES 2010) but it seems a bit choppy so it might be time to upgrade the video card. I absolutely love my size of my desktop monitor..can't say enough about screen real estate. Although Fallout New Vegas looks like t might be fun.

But I also love the portability of my laptop, I take it everywhere with me...work, class, friend's houses. It's got great battery life when you switch off the GT 325M graphics card and use the integrate one. But if I decide I want to play a game at a friend's house, I can plug it into a wall (or play 1-2hours off battery) and play pretty much any game available at acceptable quality. Oh and did I mention it's only 11"

    Ibuypower Palladin 870

    Intel I7 940, OC'd to 3.7 ghz
    6gb DDR3-1600 Corsair ram
    EVGA Nvidia GTX295
ASTEK Water cooling for the CPU
500gb drive, and a 64gb Solid State drive
23" monitor and a 17" monitor side by side, works pretty good.
Cloolermaster HAF 932 full size case.

I have had this computer since April of 09 and have only had a couple lockups and freezes in that time. It has been incredibly stable and has performed better than I expected it to. I paid about 2100 for it so it is pretty high end but it was build correctly and I couldnt ask for better support than from IBUYPOWER.

It plays mostly any game at 60+ fps, of course shit like crysis with AA way up it slows down some but thats expected. I played through Mass effect 2 at MAX graphics and never saw it drop below 60 fps once. Plays SC2 with mostly everything turned up except relections at 50-60 fps. Its a good rig. You get what you pay for.

My only gripe is that the video card fan is LOUD. About the time I built this computer GPU water cooling was just getting big and it wasnt an option to have the 2nd inline water block for the GPU, so I have to live with the fan blasting at 80% when I play a GPU intensive game.

Anyways, heres the pics, yes I know I need to clean off the radiator, air cans are expensive as hell nowadays.

    That HAF is pretty.

Looks like you have the dual PCB 295 there. Unfortunately, those are some noisy bitches. Sell it and go to dual 460's for about $100 investment.

What motherboard do you have in that R/T93?

I have the Coolermaster HAF932 on my gaming computer too. It really is an awesome case with great air flow. Definitely the best case I have built with. The Antec 1200 was a close second though.

If I had to guess, it looks like the ASUS P6T.

I was looking for the build sheet for the machine but couldnt find it this morning, Jeremy is right its one of a P6t's.

Before this computer I was buying new rigs every 2 years, I am pretty sure this one is going to last at least 3, I mean, they really havent got that much better in processors or video cards than what I have (or what anyone actually even NEEDS, gaming included). I didnt buy new computers due to them wearing out, my brother has my PC I bought in 2004 and it still runs strong, and my friend bought the one I built in 2006 and it plays starcraft 2 at 50 fps, I just always want bigger and better but so far, another 2000 dollars for a marginal improvement isnt worth it to me.
