Can a Intermittently Slipping Clutch Cause Knock?

If a clutch is rapidly slipping and grabbing while in the upper rpm ranges (for whatever reason), could this be detected as knock?

It would have to catch extraordinaly hard, but in an extreme case I'm sure it could. Say in the case of a worn flywheel and heavily worn clutch pucks a rivet catches the flywheel. If your clutch is replacing it is a must, I've seen some pretty bad things happen with a heavily worn clutch.
