Methanol

I was wondering where you guys buy this stuff? I know places like VP have it but I was wondering if you guys were finding a supply of it locally.

All I could find is Denatured Alcohol which is around a 50/50 mix of ethanol and methanol and a little bit of some other stuff. AND it was like $11 bucks a gallon

we buy 55 gal drums of it at work but ill have to ask where we get it from. it IS denatured, but as far as i know all methanol is poison to humans so im not sure if anything was added to it to make it denatured or if all methanol is considered denatured. i go back to work on the 22nd so ill ask if there’s a special 'license' or anything to guy it in bulk and what it would cost to buy a drum. I might forget so pm me around the 20th and ill get some info for you if you want.

also iirc someone on the other site said NAPA could get you a 5 gal bucket of it for like $20. not sure though.

Methanol is poison, but I don't think you need a special license to buy it in bulk. I found 55 gal drums of it for sale on ebay for like 180. I don't need that much as I would only be using it for water/meth injection system.

The 5 gal bucket from NAPA is getting me excited though!

You can search online. Theres usually a few chemical places around. I have to drive a half hour to an oil/chemical warehouse.

I think I'm going to go with some Peak washer fluid. It's MSDS only shows methanol so it should be good. Thank god for Tractor Supply Company, one thing rural SC will always have.

Its only 35%...I guess it will help but I like a 75% mixture..

Theres got to be a place around you. Call up some chemical sales places, or hit up your local drag strip and ask around. Hobby shops might know also.

I can't justify driving over 2 hours for some methanol.

I was thinking about getting the peak then adding some HEET to it, I want to run a 50/50 mix so that should get me there.

Sorry I didnt see where you were . It will get you there but I think itll be expensive..I guess if you dont spray tooo much.
