$5 to who ever solves my problem

ALRIGHT! oil pressure is being a real bitch.

I'm going to try to be as thorough as possible

3 months ago I did the TT conversion on my car. The car sat with no oil or oil pan for about a week. I put the pan back on and filled it up with oil. I Went to start it up and had no oil pressure. I mean the gauge didn't move at all and the oil light was on. (It's the stock gauge that worked fine before the conversion)

Having no oil pressure scared the living shit out of me, so I said screw it and returned my car back to stock.

I put the EXACT same sender unit and pressure switch that were on it before the conversion. Went to start it and STILL no oil pressure, after shitting myself once again, I started to diagnose the problem.

Wiring is good. With the key in the on position the oil light is on, when I unhook the wire from the pressure switch it goes off.

When I ground the wire from the sender unit the gauge buries itself at the top.

FIE DORRAH! to whoever figures this out.

If wiring is good then the sender is bad, or you actually have no pressure.

Pull the front valve cover off, unhook the ignition module, crank the engine for about 15s. Then get out and see if there is oil in the heads. If there is, this should at least give you comfort that oil is moving through the engine.

What Austin said. Rent a mechanical oil pressure gauge from Autozone, pull off the sender, install the gauge and check actual pressure. If pressure is good, replace the sender. If pressure is actually nill, you're in for some diagnosis by tear-down.

I would do what Blindmist said first. If it doesn't have oil pumping up to the lifters, you're not movin' any oil. When it sat for so long without oil, you could have lost your "prIme" in the oil pump. Usually when you buy a new oil pump it will be packed with grease to get the oil flow started. You CAN pack the oil pump yourself with Vaseline. I wouldn't suggest letting it run very long with that in there though.

    Alright.

I started my car up and the Oil light went off. But my gauge stays at the bottom?

what causes a sender to go bad?
