Do you fuel with the car running?
That can cause a lot of problems.

I do not.....and never have.......in Australia it's prohibited to do so at a service station.

So, the last thing you check with a car that is running rich is the Fuel Pressure Regulator? Kind of funny but glad you fixed the problem.
