Open office goes down in flames...

1 million nerd posts scream out in pain... anytime someone posts something about microsoft office, they all go "OMG get open office! its free and better!"...

All those posts will be worthless in a few years.

Oracle starts tightening screws and people bail from the project...

Now your users can learn a 3rd spreadsheet/word program...!

You're not alone Pete. I loathe Open Office, it's slow, and incredibly poorly laid out, GUI wise.

What kind of machines are you running? It opens in < 5 seconds on my machine... Not incredibly fast, but certainly not what I consider slow!

A good bit of the time, open source is only worth it if your own time is worthless.
