    She fired up!

Everything was going juuuuust fine until it got warm, and then I start to see smoke. I get out of the driver seat and go to see that its just the normal hands on smoke. I see that the front turbo oil feed is spraying oil all over the front of the engine. I shut it off and just sat for a bit. I noticed I have the wrong size copper washer on there for the bottom washer. DOH! I hope that it didn't damage anything to have it shut off in the middle of warm up.

Tomorrow I am going to get this resolved. But at least I heard MY engine run for the first time, and my car sounds great for sitting for a year.

I can't quit grinning. Should I go ahead and change the oil to the 1000 mile oil? Thus removing all the lubriplate and such.

Congrats. I wouldn't change the oil just yet. Here's how i did my oil changes when i rebuilt my engine.

    1) New engine filled with 10w-30 dino oil. Started the car and let it idle until it came up to temp and the fans turned on. Shut it down and drain that oil and change the filter. It is going to have all the assembly lube and crap like that in it.

    2) New 10w-30 dino oil/new filter or 50 miles. Dump oil keep filter.

    3) New 10w-30 dino oil for 200 miles (250 total now) dump oil and change filter.

    4) New 10w-30 dino oil/new filter for 250 miles (500 total now) dump oil keep filter.

    5) New 10w-30 dino oil for 500 miles (1000 total now) dump oil and change filter.

    6) New 10w-30 full synthetic (Amsoil is what i used) and new filter. Start changing every 3k - 5k like normal.

I'm approaching 20k on my rebuild with no problems.

    Just a thought,
    Phil

Ok, I have officially had my entertainment for the day. I went to about 12 different places looking for copper washers, to no avail. I went to a gasket company, asked if they had copper washers, to which was responded as follows, "I don't know what those are"

A GASKET COMPANY!! I just laughed and walked out without saying anything. With a response like that, I was obviously in the wrong place. Went to the dealer, they want $24 for 8 washers, and special order. I bet I can find some on the internet for less.

Idk man, you went to 12 places with no results, maybe you should just pay the 24 dollars for the 8 washers, least you know it will be oem and not the cheap shit.
