Could someone please tell me what that black box is underneath the passenger seat and how on Earth I get those screws loose to get it out??

I had to go into the garage and check and see if I had one too. Is what your talking about under the carpet because I don't have anything just sitting there. The only thing I can think of is a stock amp. I know DSM's have a black box under the passenger seat so that might be the same thing. I don't know for sure though.

It looks like it could be an amp. Its not covered. But for the carpet to come out that needs to. stupid planning.

I have mine ripped appart right now and I have no black box anywhere near my passengers seat, could it be an aftermarket thing? Only things I know of in the passengers area are:

    - Behind kick panel under dash, Cruise control module
    - Side of center console, MFI
    - Behind back seat side panel, ABS module
    - There is one box on the passengers side under the glove compartment that I never did figure out what is for, perhaps this could've been relocated?

There is howeve a small heat sink looking box just behind the drivers side front seat mount on mine, perhaps they could be of similarity, do you think you can get us a picture?

Another thing it could be is an ass switch for your seatbelt

It is the stock stereo amp.

To remove it I would think you may have to take out the seat. At least that would be the easiest way.

Is this a 2G thing? Mine (had) the stock infinity amp behind the factory head unit. Never seen them on the floor before except for my old RX-7

For the carpet to come out the seats need to come out anyway since the carpet goes over the studs and under the seat rails.

Yes I know all that other stuff has to come out. Because it already is, but yes those screws are on there. And I'm guessing that's what that connector is underneath the drivers seat? I don't remember if my passenger had one. haha. Man these things are a pain in the ass, so many hidden screws that dont need to be where they are.

Take out the passenger seat, then remove the two screws holding the amp in on the rear side of the car. Then you should be able to unplug the connectors and pull the amp out.
