Description
Bought this 1993 GTO TT in the Netherlands , my native country, from a gentleman that gave up on it for whatever reason. I got it cheap as the tranmission still had to be installed. BTW this is a 2nd generation car, In Japan they started building the 2nd generation in June of 1992, yes it is RHD. its been almost his whole life in my possession on jack stands. I have only met it once never driven it, my Nephew and I in the Netherlands were going to finish it and we installed the transmission and then we coulddnt get it to start in time because we couldnt get the right O2 sensor (only one on the GTO). The next day I had to leave to California back home. I looked for the right place to fix her up and found Arnout of supra.nl , he is on 3si modifying a 3000GT VR4 for a customer. So he had it towed to his shop, after some improvements it got started on the dyno and only lasted 263 KM , the car spun a bearing. My theory is that the previous Dutch owner bought a truly Ray Pampena engine from somebody in the USA, but I think that US person blew it rebuild it and resold it to an American and this American sold it to the Dutch guy as a Ray Pampena engine (its verified by Ray he rebuild it at some point). So its still on jack stands or its again on jack stands lol. I am keeping it because its pretty rare specially if I can import it into the USA. Its in the process of being rebuild, got new pistons , rods all the good stuff. It takes its time but I am no hurry. In 2017 Its 25 years old and I might import it to the USA just to drive thru the Drivethru against traffic or backwards lol. Why did I buy it? because it was cheap (now I know why , maybe ) thought I could import it earlier, on one hand I had something to drive in the Netherlands when i was visiting etc., now it ends up being a money pit. Oh well its only money.
