Description
I initially purchased the car as a 93 Dodge Stealth ES that had been in a flood but the battery was not in it so none of the electronics were damaged. I picked the car up for $600 and took it home on a flat bed. It had jumped time and at the time I did not want to mess up the engine any more than it already was, so Von (AKA Xwire) generously came out and reset the correct timing for me. The motor ran but it needed new heads. I purchased some new used heads from Doug (AKA Whitedragon) and did the 180k while I was working on the motor. Once the motor was done I had Eric Watters make a custom exhaust for it which sounded quite loud but I was 16 and it was cool then haha.

Going down the road in time the ES body style was sooo ugly I decided it was time for a change. The first thing to get replaced was the fake sail panels that were on the car. I found some cheap A and B pillars and threw them on one day at 4 AM before school because I was so excited to get them onto the car. The next step for me was finding the 3000gt body style pieces in red as there was no way I could afford to paint a car being a grocery clerk. Fortunately or unfortunately a local 3/S club member (Dan) with a red 93 3000gt had an accident with a pole and decided to do a full 99 conversion. So I got my rear bumper, side skirts, and AA wing from him for a great price. I got some door caps and the front bumper off the forums and bam I had my 3000gt body style.

At this point I was 19 and very attached to my car, but I want AWD for donuts/ snow/TT upgrade in future. I knew everyone would tell me to just buy a TT but I love working on my car so it was always an option for me. I had always looked over the AWD swap for about 2 years and finally was ready to just go for it. I found a wrecked 91 TT for $800 That I bought and used for parts. I cut up the donor car in about a week and had my parts all laid out to be cleaned for the Swap. I painted the Rear sub-frame with por-15 and purple hardnose paint and Inspected the insides of the AWD transmission which had recently been rebuilt(score)! I cleaned up pretty much every part that was going into my car. In January of 2012 I took the step of no turning back and I cut my FWD trailing arm mounts out for the AWD mounts. About a week of down time and my car was rolling again! it was FWD still but I had the AWD subframe in as I sent off the TC to Jacks for a rebuild. Finally in February the AWD was complete and I was rolling around N/a AWD. The car is slower but I really do like the upgraded gearing and the traction. From the aftermath of my swap I sold off what I did not need and used the money GAINED from buying the donor car for beefing up my AWD. I upgraded to a 25 spline OS and Transfer case, a maximal stage 2 brace, and a 2 piece aluminum Hybrid drive shaft.

In April of 2014 I swapped to a 2G head light bucket set up and cut the bumper to fit some 94 Glass headlights I picked up for $90! I also installed 2G side skirts, 5k HIDs in the low beams, and 3K HIDs in the fog lights. The bumper does have space in front of the head lights for now, but that will be filled when I repaint the car after the TT motor goes in!

I currently have the bottom end of my TT motor built and I am working on the heads and financing my turbos haha
