Seve, how about just sending Phillip an E-mail, would probably get a faster response.

I am not in any rush.

Also this way, the info he puts out on it can be to the public so everyone can see it.

Ha! It is time to reply to this thread. I remember the initial thread notification some time ago, but further posts and bumps do not trigger any more notifications, so I had to find this thread myself again.

About the Sequential Shifter - I love it. I've had it on my car for 3 years already, and it still works fine. It is great for track driving, racing, and any spirited driving. The shifts are quick and reliable. You do not have to remember which gear you are in, just pull to upshift or push to downshift. There is also a handy gear indicator, which could be ordered small round or large square, if you really want to keep track of the gears.

This shifter helps eliminate shifting errors. It is not 100% foolproof, so you shouldn't be pushing on the lever when you ought to be pulling. But if you are paying attention, you will never accidentally shift into a wrong gate of the H-pattern shifter and over-rev the engine, like "upshifting" from 2nd into 1st instead of 3rd, from 3rd into 2nd instead of 4th, or from 4th into 3rd instead of 5th. It is especially helpful in drag racing, or any other spirited driving when shifting errors are likely to occur.

It is not as great for slow putt-putt driving because it shift gears faster than you do when you are driving slow and relaxed. Not really a problem, but the extra shifting speed is not necessary in this situation. Also, you can't skip gears, so when downshifting from 6th into neutral you have to push the lever six times. Yet, strangely enough, I still find it enjoyable to use it in traffic. Us, guys with manual trannies, do no mind some extra work that is needed to shift that tranny into the correct gear. If you like manual trannies then this will not bother you.

    Does it ever need re-adjusting?

I can't understand why. The design is good, the wear is minimal, so once properly adjusted it should keep this adjustment for a long time. I haven't had to adjust mine yet.
