    MMCd Guide

I decided to post this up because I had an extremely hard time setting up my Palm M100 to use MMCd, most of the links I found were outdated and corrupted and It took me a while to finally get everything I needed.

This is my first write up so point out any mistakes as well as anything I missed.

First you need to make sure your palm is connected with your computer and you can hotsync. You are going to need to download the Palm Desktop.

This step is optional:You might want to download WinRAR, I think it makes the process a lot easier. WinRAR download and support. WinRAR is a powerful Windows tool to compress and decompress zip, rar and many other formats: Download now

Next you need to download MMCd.

Edit: For an updated, uncorrupted version of MMCd, see RealMcCoy's post #4
Continue the following steps as seen below:

If you downloaded WinRAR than this should pop up. Extract the files to your computer.

Now find the files on your computer and click on the prc file.

This will place it in your install tool and will be installed on to your palm the next time you Hotsync.

    After completing the Hotsync with your Palm;

To read codes use your stylus to hit MMCd then Test.

To log select New at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Select what you want to log on the left and what you want to display on the right.

Then uncheck the "Pause" box and start logging. Recheck the box to stop. Hit done when done.

To get your logs on to the computer, download MMCd Tools.
    MMCd Tools

Go onto the log you want to transfer and select the dark box on the top left corner, select "Rename/Upload Log". Then check the box shown below.

Hotsync again to get the PDB file onto your computer.

    The MMCd Tool

Once you have MMCd Tool up, find the log you want to convert. It will most likely be in a "Palm OS Desktop" folder, under the sub folder MMCd.

Save the file under a seperate folder. It should now be converted to Excel format.

Thanks again to Real McCoy for posting up the only uncorrupted version of 1.8.

This information & hosting will not be posted on ANY other site. Thank you.

Edit: If you have the older version of MMCd installed and want to update it, simply download the new version, put it into you installer tool, & Hotsync. It will update your version of MMCd.

V1.8 is Soooo much better for the 3S. It was hosted on the other site, but the file is corrupted... I told them about it over a year ago, and offered to send the file if needed.

So now I guess here will be the only place to get it:

    mmcdv18g.zip

Now does anyone know how to fix the issues with MMCD-Tools crashing when converting the logs to Excel???

I had MMCD-Tools configured so that when I sync it would auto-convert the files to Excel. But it would lock up and crash and I had to kill it through task manager. I disabled the auto-convert so I have to go into MMCD-Tools and manually convert them. When I try to convert to Excel format it runs but never creates the file...WTF!! Some of my logs I go to convert them to CSV and it locks up and crashes. I know the logs files are good as I can open them on my Palm Emulator and they load fine!

I have the same issue, I will take like 5 or 6 logs and when I upload 4 will convert fine and one of them will hang and crash it. No Idea why either. I thought it was from me setting it down when it started or something
