There is no option for USB. It's a slave device, it can't initiate connections. However, I don't see what the problem is...? As a police officer, I can tell you that if you're not using it as a phone (i.e. calling), it won't count for the hands-free laws.

The app will be paid for through the market, the hardware will be bought from the hardware dev directly. I'm not sure whether he's going to set up an automated website, or make a wait list, or what.. that part's all up to him.

My phone which is quite old, can pair with multiple devices. How would using the bluetooth adapter for the ODB hinder use for talk? I believe you can connect multiple devices at the same time. I've paired more than one to my phone but haven't tried connecting more than one. Although my laptop lets me have multiple devices paired and connected via bluetooth.

Amen to that! I've been pulled over for all that stupid stuff before, but I see dozens of people every day that come into near collisions and/or run people off road all the time, but never see them get pulled over.

Back to the thread though, I want! My Droid X with the car dock will be perfect for this!

My question evidently wasn't phrased well seeing the responses. If I am in a phone call with my bluetooth will it be able to continue logging at the same time. If it was able to use the USB port to connect to the ECU like the serial to the PDA then I could do hands free phone (keeping me legal) and watch the logging from the USB port on my docked phone. Right now I can use my phone via the bluetooth in the radio and log with my m125 Palm via serial connection. Does this make better sense? Heck I have the phone paired with several different things now but I have never tried to use 2 paired things at the same time. Maybe I should experiment and make a call with my bluetooth headset and bluetooth print some pics off during the call. Is this clear as mud? Maybe this is a limitation of the phone not being able to read from the USB port?

I'll have to test it out, I have a bluetooth headset and use my phone to stream music into my car. Since they are two different types of connections I'll see if it can work at the same time. Or use a bluetooth HID device and see if it works concurrently with a phone call, playing music, etc.

I honestly can't forsee a problem using both bluetooth devices at once. The ECU uses a very low amount of bandwidth consumption. Depends on how the phone handles it, I suppose - I'll have to look into it. Going to post a new video later today.. and perhaps put the newest version on the market for sale (free updates in the future, of course).

I think for this to work the phone has to support multipoint.

It has been released as a sort of "preorder" so that the progress can still be followed. Updates are - and will always be - free. It is, however, very functional right now. Thanks to those who have been following and support this You can find it in the app market by searching for "MMCdroid"

Total cost is DEFINITELY under $100 Hardware out soon!!!
