Gauging Interest: Bolt On High Flow Convertors

I've had a few people over the years ask me if I can do something like this. Basically throw a convertor in the middle of a testpipe and have a compromise between emissions and performance. I did some research and found a decent core that should work. It's high performance for sure.

Pricing will probably be about $150 when everything is all set and ready to go. Just like the testpipes it will include new hardware and gaskets and would be available in both 3" and 2.5".

Thoughts? Is it worth throwing a few together? It's cheaper than then random tech one out there now by about $100.

I'd be very interested in a 4" with vband flanges.

Well the cores I'm looking at only go up to 3" but i'm sure I can find a 4" one and make something work. Of course the cost will be a bit higher. If you're serious shoot me some specs (that is unless it's the same length as a stock cat) and I can probably come up with something.

How far away should a wb02 sensor be from the cat?

Just as long as it's upstream of it it should be fine. This would be in the same spot as the stock convertor so the stock o2 location works.

I think I would be interested. I hate having to keep putting my stock one back on for emissions and crap. I think it would also soften the sound when DD'ing the car also.

Ok, if that's the case (I have my wb02 in the front of my test pipe because of the limited room at the end of the DR DP) I would be interested at some point later on down the road..

Inspectors have been giving me some "where is the cat?" Last time I told them I have 2 separate cats off the headers...visual inspection only here...after a couple seconds with the mirror under the car h exclaim "oh there they are," pass.

Interested, but my exhaust isn't stock.

Yeah I tried that once. They pulled out their manual and it stated two pre-cats one main. They failed me for it!!!
